Yummy! I love parsnips...especially roasted. Do you ever make parsnip chips or crisps? Love'em. ;-))
On blog - Parsnips
The trouble is, Cliffo, that we live in a VERY rural area - we've been into the nearest (small) town, which has two or three Newsagents, and they didn't have a copy - not did either of the Supermarkets where I normally buy it.
I'm still hoping that a kind GOY member might come across one, or have finished with theirs!!
On question - Missed Gardening magazine!
I spotted it, Heron! That comment further up ^ was aimed at ALL the berry funny jokes including yours!! lol.
Sandra - I'm not taking the advice - how could I deprive the birds of their winter lunches? lol.
On blog - 'Berry' nice!
Thanks, Pip - that's kind of you. :-)
Mookins, I checked their website - not very helpful, to be honest. I don't subscribe - I suppose I should!

On question - Which Plant For Best Berries ?
Pyracantha ?? - but I have no idea how deep its roots go...I know there's a shorter growing one, I've taken a look in the RHS A-Z for the cultivar name: 'Harlequin'.
What about the Photinia davidiana 'Palette' that I have - I think that might be OK, as well. It doesn't get covered in berries, but does produce some - and it's very attractive.
On question - Which Plant For Best Berries ?
Very odd, wasn't it - C. cirrhosas flowering in the summer! Mine did, as well - particularly 'Freckles'...
On photo - Winter Jasmine already!
Glad to be of help! Isn't it a great shrub! :-))
On blog - 'Berry' nice!
That's because some of the plants have overflowed!! My husband runs them over with the lawnmower. :-((

On blog - Still looking like summer!
This is a new one - the 'Rubella' is a lot redder. It'll be interesting to see what it's like when the flowers do open.
On photo - Skimmia japonica 'Marlot'
I've done that with my Coprosmas, Sbg. Oh, and the Allium christophii, as well, as they arrived potted up.

Hmmm...sadly, the leaves don't stay dark , do they?
How are yours doing, David?
On photo - Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolat...
I'd agree, Mg - the only Osteospermum I've found to be reliably hardy is O. jucundum. I have tried others that say they are hardy, but as you rightly say, they don't like winter wet!
On question - Osteospermum Weetwood - where to...
