Spritz, here is a link to the National Collection of Geums. The lady was featured on Gardener's World so I wonder if you could find it on BBCiPlayer.

I love them too Spritz, but have never been able to find the tall ones!
Did you get them from a garden centre?

Lovely Geums Spritz, I am planting them up in my garden this spring, I will put yours on my list.

Beautiful Geums, Spritz! πŸ‘

Lovely colours in your borders, Spritz! I myself don't particularly worry about colour combinations - something my wife tells me off for! 🀣

On blog - OF = orange.

They are lovely Spritz...Did you see the GW programme which featured them?We have one here,an orange and red.

Xela - I had to replace box and chose ilex crenata. Although it looks similar, it couldn't tolerate a hot, dry summer and most if it died. I'm now trying euonymus 'Green Spire'

Oh golly, what a question! I love roses and can't wait for their flowers to open again. Choosing a favourite is an impossible task, they are all beautiful in one way or another.
Girlguiding has been a major feature in my life so I created a bed for the roses associated with it. I am currently a member of the Trefoil Guild so have planted 'Trefoil Guild' there, and 'The Brownie' as I was a Brown Owl for. many years. 'Warm Wishes' is there too, a thank you gift from my Trefoil Guild for my term as their Chairman during the Covid pandemic.
I have two climbing roses too that have a special place in my heart, 'Leaping Salmon' which was given to my Mother in memory of my Father by my closest friend from college days and 'Chris' which I planted in her memory, both are prolific bloomers and make a significant contribution to the Summer colour scheme in my garden.

On blog - Some of my roses.

Ivy is a bane in my garden too, Spritz, both a wild one that has 'emigrated' from the local woods into my conifer and beech hedges and an large leafed ornamental one that a previous owner planted over 25 years ago. I have toiled for over 20 of those years to eradicate both, haven't resorted to weedkiller because we have inquisitive dogs but it has become very tempting ;-)
I saw how invasive vinca can be in a neighbour's garden so when offered a piece I planted it in a 'Winter' hanging basket beside my front door, its blue flowers provide a balance to the yellow which dominates my front garden in early Spring.
I can imagine your heartbreak to see your box decimated by caterpillars, they have the upper hand in our area too. I dreamed of edging my veg patch with low growing box, so glad I didn't although I would still like to edge it with something similar, just not sure what, lol.
It is lovely to see you posting here again, I've returned after quite a long break and am delighted to see familiar names among all the new ones. I admire and am inspired by your green fingers, please keep your posts coming.

Bold and bright does it for me Spritz - I love all the rich colours of marigolds- nasturtiums - -poppies etc which includes all the self setters cant wait to see the new combinations of colour in my borders .

On blog - OF = orange.

Looks lovely Spritz...

On blog - OF = orange.

Definitely Champagne Moment for me.

What a beautiful combination of colour - zingy orange and that rich velvet purple!

On blog - OF = orange.

Orange is one of my favourite colours in the borders. I do think it's possible to be too 'refined'. I enjoy a spluge and your combos are fun.

On blog - OF = orange.

I like orange and yellow flowers, they just bring a smile to my face, your combos are lovely .

On blog - OF = orange.

I like the zing of orange and yes they can be hard to place. You have always managed good colour combos.

On blog - OF = orange.

I love most roses except for the "blue" ones (nothing wrong with my perception of colour!) but for me 'Champagne Moment' is the the one I like best! In several gardens around here there are similar light pink roses.

I love all roses, out of these my favourite has to be Rosa Banksia lutea with Hot Chocolate a very close second....

These things come to try us, I too have ivy, vinca and worst of all is St Johns Wort, I feel your frustration Spritz...Your pot looks absolutely lovely....

I like most of these except the 'blues', they just dont like right to my poor blue/purple colour blind eyes.

Angel face is a stunner and doing very well for me too. I do like lady of Shallot and Champagne Moment.

I love the Gertrude Jekyll one too.
Rosa Banksia lutea is gorgeous, I've seen it in gardens and always wish I had the space to grow one.
My third is Angelface, seeing it scrambling upwards in your last pic, a beautiful colour and shape.

On blog - Some of my roses.

I too love my roses and have about 20 now, but my absolute favourite is Gertrude Jekyll.
The fragrance is beautiful.
I also have Hot Chocolate although not sure about the smell of that one.

I have a Vinca in my front garden which I have been trying to get rid of for the last five years. It is a lovely large flowered blue one and would like it, if it would just behave itself!
Your pot looks wonderful!
I am sorry about your box and you could maybe replace it with another low growing shrub which you could make into a hedge.

Oh they are all beautiful, but I think I would go for Champagne Moment also.

On blog - Some of my roses.

Gorgeous selection!!! It’s a difficult decision, but I’m going with either, Champagne Moment or Gertrude Jekyll. The fragrance would be a bonus.
