Sending sympathy re the bittercress I fought it vigorously for a couple of years and seem to have more or less won, (for now...)so be encouraged! This year's battle has been mainly speedwell with a good sprinkling of dandelions from the field next door but one.
Its amazing how many have had cataracts done! Just think how much blindness there would have been a few years ago. Its great to hear how many of us have benefitted from surgery isn't it?
Its really nice to hear from you again Spritz - you are one of the people I well remember from when first joined and i still think about you when there are prolonged heavy rains!
Do you still have that collection of orchids?

On blog - Oh dear!

Best of luck with you eye op. I have had one eye done & it was a good result. I can see tiny bitter cress seedlings & I’m weeding them out. Funny thing is there are a lot this year but I never had them before, blown in from somewhere l suppose.

Good luck with your cataract op! My wife had both her eyes done a few years ago.

I asked about the cataracts in my eyes but they still need a few mores years to develop was what the optometrist told me back in March this year! šŸ˜‚

On blog - Oh dear!

Good luck with having your cataracts done. I had both of mine done at the same time, obviously needed help whilst covered for 2 days after, but then the world just got brighter and brighter.

On blog - Oh dear!

I liked for the same reason as Seaburngirl. Good luck with your op.

On blog - Oh dear!

I too have added a like because its so good to see a blog from you Spritz, I had cataracts in both eyes a few years back and know what its like to stumble and fall, naturally my first thought was always " who is watching" I hope you get them sorted soon, I cried when I uncovered my eye the next day after the first op because I could see actual leaves on the hawthorn instead of dirty greenish smudges...

On blog - Oh dear!

I've liked this not because you need your eyes doing but because you are brave to show us. I also have hairy bittercress and they release about 100 seeds per capsule. Which is why they are so good at spreading.
the Clem is beautiful.

On blog - Oh dear!

no sign of flowers on mine at the moment. but it is still alive so that is good.

I had to dig C montana Elizabeth out as she was taking over and would not stay were she was put! Just like daughter haha

Mine is opening up nicely now!

Looks so vibrant and lovely, Spritzhenry! Loving the yellow flowering shrubs and plants. The Sophora and Kerria have beautiful flowers! The latter new to me.
I've a lot of yellow leafed shrubs and several variegated.

Thank you Spritzhenry for your reply, Ill keep my small seedling indoors until the weather is warmer, then give it a holiday outside over the summer months till its bigger.

So nice to hear from you again SpritzYellow garden is a good name for it ! I seem to remember envying you your Doronicum before - can 't seem to keep it here for some reason. Your Euphorbias are doing well - love the little polychroma! Do you still have a dog these days?

What a beautiful golden garden you have, Spritz! So many yellow flowers it looks like the sun has installed itself there! šŸ˜‚

I love that first photo - what a beautiful garden you have. All of your shades of yellow look so bright and cheery and happy. It is a lovely time of year.

Your garden is wonderfully golden. May I ask if you find your Sophora Sun king needs winter protection in your Somerset garden? I have a small seedling growing in a pot in the cool conservatory here in Hampshire. Ps my Little leo has not opened its buds yet.

A very pretty garden. I like the Euphorbias.

Hello Spritz, yellow is so cheering after the drabness of late winter and you've a smashing selection of flowers and shrubs.
In my mum's garden, she had the double Kerria with pompom flowers and a weeping forsythia with gentle yellow single flowers.
Looking at mine now, yes plenty of yellows, tulips, primroses, doronicum, a bright pieris, hellebore and euphoria. Another couple of weeks and we'll have lots more colours too!

my garden is also more yellow at this time of year. I know your garden evolves in colour and it is so pretty.
I like your yellow garden very much.

Hi Spritzhenry lovely to see your flowers all looking wonderful :-))

On blog - My yellow garden.

Its very attractive. Spritz its really really nice to hear from you again. So many members are going off to join other sites - all very sad.

Have a look at Erysimum kotschyianum as well. the flowers there look as if they are cruciform. We used to have a dwarf perennial wallflower like this.

hello Spritz, lovely to see you.
I've never seen this, it is very pretty. The flower form looks very arabis/aubretia like doesn't it? What is the foliage like?

at first I thought an early flowering potentilla but they usually have 5 petals per flower.

Have a look at Calylophus serrulatus.

Very pretty! :)

Now on my shopping list, it looks lovely.

Lovely to see them this time of the year and the bees lke them too.

So many different Fuchsias now but they seem to have done well this year. Lovely.

A very nice looking Fuchsia! My two are still flowering as well & I expect them to carry on for a few more weeks yet.
