This weather is atrocious, I have to pick the cane fruit as soon as it ripens and freeze immediately else it just goes mouldy, fruit under leaves goes mouldy before I find it.
It seems to suit the greens though. The farmers must be having a hard time, I guess we will get shortages and higher prices.

Why not pot up some of each and put in greenhouse or cold frame out of the rain, then you will have a start if and when the weather improves.Alternatively if you have some bell jars or cloches, cover to keep the rain off.

My mother in law had an 8' Weigela in her small courtyard garden. Too big for the space, so after flowering I 'pruned' it for her! The largest stem was 6" in diameter and this was cut down to ground level. After a week the new shoots appeared on it, and it's shooting away quite happily

Hi there Spritzhenry, it may well be an echeveria but can I also suggest aeonium? Perhaps Aeonium undulatum which can grow up to 3 feet tall.. I only suggest this as the write up says 'Very dark yellow pyramidal shaped inflorescence.' and it seems big enough. I hope this is some help - it looks fabulous!
On question - Very unusual plant!
Yes pick fruits regularly, then they will produce more.

How lovely your basket looks. I have made around 10 hanging baskets this year nurtured all the tiny plants for months in the greenhouse only to have the dreadful rain we are experiencing ruin them. I just get them back on track and down it comes again to spoil all my good work. If they survive and manage to put on a show I will post some photos. Just keep uploading your pics so I can dream.

I think you are panicing, it looks to me as if it will flower albeit a bit later. You can them off a bit in the autumn and then hard in the spring they are very tough and reliable don't worry.

What a beautiful corner to sit in!

It is not hardy but you could grow it in a pot and cut it back hard in the Autumn, keep it frost free, feed it in the Spring and it will go for many years

Hiya You've done nothing wrong. Buddleia are usually hard cut back, and I do mean hard, in February as the flowers are formed on new wood. Your plant will flower when it is supposed to - late summer, when it provides much needed nectar for butterflies
