Poor tree ?
You've worked so hard removing it, but I must say your garden looks lovely! What's the grey stone structure to the left in your first picture? It looks really nice ?

Great minds and all that!!

A new start....very nice too (although, sad to lose an old friend.)

Its sad when you lose an old tree but I think that having to make a new area can rejuvenate you and the garden.
It looks like you`ve done a brilliant job, and as Sbg says please add more pictures as it all matures.

this has been a labour of 'love' :o) or should that be an herculean task.

The area will soon settle down and look as if it has been here for years. You must add more pictures as it develops. :o))

What an enormous hole. You deserve to put your feet up now, and watch all those lovely new plants grow.

My word Spritz .......you don't let the grass grow do you? love your choice of plants, well done to the both of you,. ......my sister moves to Somerset in June at long last, and if the Gods smile on me, we may get to visit you, say one for me on Easter Sunday.......

I love them, bought another last year, always on the look out for new ones.....

We have this one in the ground, been there for many years, so slow, but we don't mind......

Love these little beauties.....

When the bulbs I have of Moraea simulans bloomed, I thought they looked like cousins to this one.

Lovely pastel blue pretty.

I'm exhausted just reading about how you tackled this project but thrilled to see the 'improvement' it has created. Well done Spitz and OH.

this is a lovely colour. I find they don't last in the garden from one year to the next. I do like them though.

well deserved too. you have such a pretty village it deserves some good flowers.

does it have a pretty flower too or is it more for foliage effects?

this is a nice plant. well found.

mine is just coming into flower too. such a pretty plant.

we have a lovely rare/unusual plant place just outside of York. Primrose Bank nursery. I think they do mail order ;o)

I spent £160 the other weekend on 22 plants. Some very nice woodlanders. when I get chance I'll do a blog on them.

This is a marvellous looking plant, Spritz! :-))

It's not very often you see a pure white Primula like this one!

I have bought a replacement :o))

And so they should. I'm sure the spirits of villagers rise when they see the boxes.
