I had a look - it's similar, but not the same. Wish I could name it for you!

Thanks, Hywel. I always know who to ask about Fuchsias! :-)

So my first reaction was probably the right one, then. Is it OK to let it die back naturally in the greenhouse? I don't want to chop off all the pretty flowers! :-((

OK - I shall hunt for it in the undergrowth! ;-)

I had one over with my ferns, but it didn't appear this year. I suspect SNAILS!! I'm keeping a careful eye on the Tricyrtis just inside the gate - it's not a formosana, though.

Once he's out, he's into every puddle, pond, stream, ANY water he finds! lol. Splash, splosh, shake!

Well - the t.s. told us that the old ash tree may not live much longer, so we decided to look ahead and plant another one, only not a weeping one, to make a change! :-))

Alice - hahaha.
I think I may have this....if I can only remember where?? Would it be in a shady area?

The only Coprosma that survived last winter outside was 'Beatson's Gold'. So the new ones are definitely going in. I'll have to check out the Cestrum - not a familiar name. Did you fleece it?
On photo - Australian Fuchsia
It stopped here after lunch, so H. and I stayed dry - AND I emptied the boxes ready for planting! :-))

Now why not? Who told me to have my camera ready at 'all times'??
On photo - Parthenocissus thomsonii
Would you advise me to plant it out now, then, Hywel?

Hahahaha - for a dog that LOVES any sort of water, Henry is soooo funny when he sees it's raining...he doesn't want to go out in it! How about that?

Make sure that you keep a balance of material that goes in. The key is mixing them together - the bin needs air, as well as some water. If it's too dry, it won't rot down - if too wet, you get a soggy mess! Can you turn the compost in the bin, to mix it up?
Leaves are much better rotted down separately, or in a VERY thin layer in the bin, mixed with torn up/shredded paper/cardboard and annual weeds.
You could empty the whole lot onto a tarpaulin, remove the bottom part which should be usable compost after a year, and put the top layer back in the bottom of the bin - that's what we do, on occasion.
Hard work - but worth it! Good luck. :-)
