I think the colours ARE richer and deeper this year.

How beautiful.....,

Good its not been struck with the awful ash dieback.Wish the whopping great ash at the end of my garden was as pretty as this type - instead of seedlings coming up everywhere & dropping bits of dead branches & leaves that don't rot down well.

That's stunning Spritz....It's such a cooler full time of the year.

It's an invasive weed in my opinion that is as bad as Ivy! One of my pet hates.

On blog - A Cautionary Tale.

I've grown Rehmannia elata in the past and it will survive an average winter but only in a dry spot.

Spritz are these still growing in your garden? bought two last year, one of them is in flower, the other about to.....

I looked at that site some months ago but I haven't been back since, perhaps I ought to go along again then! Thanks.

The info is all on Plantagogo, David. Good luck with your plant.

Thanks for that advice, GF! :-)) I hope my plant recovers - for the 2nd time!

What a good thing you hadn't tossed it out! In case you didn't already know, here's some advise about what to do if vine weevil has destroyed a plant, same advise applies in your case:

If your beloved Heuchera comes under attack and you discover that most or all of the roots have gone.

'Lift your plant and inspect the roots or lack of them tacking all the compost off. If they fall into pieces don’t worry, take the stumpy pieces that are left that have a basal ‘knobble’ (where the leaves or roots usually come from) and wash in clean water, vigorously.
Take a cocktail stick and check the bottom has no little horrors left hiding in there, pick out with cocktail stick if you find one, feel free to vent your anger on them at this point! (Very therapeutic I think) Robins and birds will love them from the bird table (best to kill them first in case they wriggle away!) or give them to your hens if you have them.
When all cleaned and de-vine weeviled you can then pop into a fresh pot of compost water lightly. No need to cover. Wait a few weeks and lovely new fresh roots will grow back. Do not over water at this stage as they can go rotten if you do.'

My only plant that I thought was completely dead looks as if it might not be after all! :-)) Just yesterday I noticed a tiny leaf on the mail stem! With a bit of luck & some TLC I hope it will recover again!

I hope your group visits went well. Thanks Barbara.

I know, there are never enough hours in the day.

I have succumbed, couldn't resist.

Unfortunately yes. Did you open your garden this year Barbara? I'm just looking at the NGS website now - I would like to open my garden in the future if it meets what people are looking to see.

I like it. Please share other ideas :-)

I am disappointed as it was the first time I'd ever grown this plant & I managed to bring it back from the brink of death a couple of years ago when a friend of ours gave it to me. When she gave it to me, along with several others, it was almost dead.

I like how you have clematis 'roaming'

I would love too ......

That is such a disappointment, Balcony, is it completely dead or possible you could salvage a bit as a cutting?

Must have been a wonderful sight.

Beautiful colouring, Spritz! :-))

My only plant has now died on me! ;-(( I think it was between the strong winds that burnt the foliage & my not taking care when watering with fertilizer to keep it off the leaves. :-((

Super Inula. I like their huge leaves. Good to see butterfly enjoying.

I want to enter and explore!

Beautiful. Dont you find Persicaria flowers for weeks. Love them.

One to look out for!

I love this, it is so pretty.

This is on my want list, I bought lime marmalade yesterday even tho the border isn't ready for it yet - I couldn't resist, lol.

Lovely to see a Peacock butterfly resting so quietly & soaking up the summer sunshine! :-))

I haven't seen nearly as many butterflies around this year as other years. :-(( Peacocks are normally very common on the allotments but I've seen only a couple this year. Even the Great & Small Whites seem to be scarce around here this year.

The Buddleias here have practically no butterflies this year so can't live up to their name of 'Butterfly bush' :-(( There aren't many bees on them either, yet I notice that Lavender flowers attract lots of them!
