great find, Spritz - and your recent garden pics make me drool!! I'll have to wait till my precious chicks have flown the nest b4 I can even contemplate such an outdoor sanctuary. Meanwhile, I'll look at yours, and dream.............

Gotcha!!
It's oemleria cerasiformis (syn osmaronia cerasiformis), common names oso berry, Indian plum, Oregon plum.
A suckering shrub up to 8 feet all and eventually forming a thicket 12 feet across. Male and female flowers are carried on seperate plants; the male has showier flowers and the female carries purple berries (like small plums)
And no, I haven't got room for it :-(

Andrew may be on the right track, I'll now go for Olearia macradonta.

On question - Unknown Shrub part 2

Not to be impertinent, but maybe it is some kind of nut tree.

Aren't they terrific...? I wish they were native here...I have seen them winter-over in past mild winters...not like this one though.

Oh Wow ! I'm sooo jealous..!! Another gardening book quality photo ! Your place really is beautiful.

Looks like a picture straight out a gardening 'how to' book, amazing.! Looks like a very established garden, how long have the vines been growing in the background ?

Man, I wish I could get this to look that lush for me !!

A cottage garden isn't complete without beebalm in it !

Love the way you have flowers cascading over your rock walls. It softens the sharp edges, and add character to the wall, and gives it a aged look. Always wished I had a rock wall to work with. You've done and excellent job with yours.!

I've never seen this one before, just LOVELY. Gotta have it...!!!!

Beautiful picture, and another great plant too !
