Great plants there Spritzhenry Violas are one of my favourites not only do they come in a huge range of colours they are so easy to take seeds from and you don't have to be Percy Thrower to grow them! Hel.xxx.

LOVE Hepatica ! I'm very fortunate to have a wild patch of hepatica growing in the back woods. There's all shades !

Lovely closeup.! This shrub is certainly a keeper, so the the double form, 'plentiflora'. Recently I saw a kerria with variegated foliage for sell in a catalogue. What next..? !

They grow really well in quite shady areas - and the fragrance is superb. We're quite ruthless with the pruning - but they seem to cope.

This is a lovely colour

Beautiful pic~ I love the colours!!

yes i love it Barb, looks really good here, is this the one you have the red rose and clematis on?

There is also a newish cultivar called 'Red Majestic', reddish-purple leaves in spring, reddish-green in summer, plus nice autumn colour, well worth looking for.

That's the one we have in the icy scene but we didn't know its real name

Living in the southern counties, you seem to be much more advanced than us in the Midlands.

Wonderful shape to it. The area it's in is very nice.

Lovely photos and superb light.
They are gorgeous flowers and a sign that Spring is well and truly established.
Best wishes and happy gardening,

Andrew, I have to admit, not heard that before, who's to stop you naming your own raised plant after yourself ? If this is the case, surely it can only apply to RHS registered plants ?

An extra nugget for you - if you breed a new plant, you're not allowed to name it after yourself. Guess I'll just have to make friends with a plant breeder and get him/her to do all the work - lol
