So exotic. The monotone color enhances the shape and features. Neat one, Arlene. This glasshouse is close, where you can visit often, or is this holiday?

Hi Greenthumb
Unfortunately not close! Wisley is situated about 200 miles away or I would definitely go more often. We were in the area for a mini break last weekend.
The Glasshouse has been built in the last few years and is well worth a visit.

Hi Bonkersbon
Glad you like the pic!
These are from China and can grow to 36 inches tall. They need high humidity and well drained soil as well as heat.Apparently much like orchids. Can be bought from Thompson and Morgan to grow,as well as other nurseries in flower!

The only one of those I got Arlene is well drained soil. Not much chance of high humidity or heat here so ll just enjoy your pic and dream on.

I just recently photographed this one too Arlene. They're are really unique and I was glad to see them in person. Someone else has this flower in their plot... cant' remember who it is though.

I have posted some Tacca's too and I have seen them in our botanical garden and along the streets in people's front garden. They truly are amazing. This is such a good shot. You can see exactly why they are called bat flowers.
