About me

Originally from Hersham, Surrey, England, I probably got my love of gardening from my father, who grew prize-winning chrysanthemums, and my grandfather, who was a head gardener at several large estates through his life. I used to accompany him to a large estate in Chertsey, Surrey and learnt a lot from him. I even got presented to the lady of the manor who gave me some wax orchids and a beautiful bird book, which I still treasure!
Looking back at our family history I seem to have come from a long line of gardeners, so it must be in my blood!
One of my first jobs was as a florist, I have also worked for the Moody Blues and in an architect's office - my jobs have been rather random over the years! Currently I am in a small gift store where I make up gift baskets - also have some of my painted rocks for sale there!
I have four children, my interests include genealogy, crafts, baking, birdwatching, entomology, rock collecting and most anything to do with the natural world. Oh yes - I also love to paint!
Currently running twelve groups on facebook and I also work, so that about fills up my days!
