About me

Fanatical gardener since my grandparents first got me to tidy the edges of the lawn as a child (it was all a ploy to train me up to do the whole garden in the end). Followed by annual visits to the Southport Flower Show each August and spending my pocket money on bulbs and plants.

The current garden is attached to a solid red-brick detached 1920's house, with a busy main road to the front and fields behind.

Much of the current garden was laid out over 15 years ago by the previous owners, so the minature conifers they planted en masse have grown to dominate one border, all removed in Autumn 2007, some shrubs have responded well to quite severe pruning back over a couple of seasons and a few overbearing trees have been removed last Autumn 2006.

In the process of revitalising my back garden by enriching the soil, redesigning and replanting the borders, and looking into finally creating some form of water feature. That and fighting an ongoing battle against celandine and lily beetle.

Techinical stuff the photos are all taken with a tiny Sony 6 mega pixel camera, which I tend to have to have to hand to record pictures for here and to keep track of how the borders change and are responding to tlc.
