Hywel... do you mean how long the snow will be around until it melts ? It's not going to go away anytime soon as the temps are staying very cold. They have predicted a VERY snowy and cold February for us here in the north east so there is plenty more to come.

I'm wondering if it's normal for you to have snow for that long. and such cold temps.

Yes it is very normal Hywel. it's not unusual to get blizzards in March and even April. On April 6, 2007 we had a huge storm that dumped 29 inches of snow on us. The only blessing is that the snow melts quickly at that time of the year.

When we have snow, which isn't often, it usually clears away in a few days. We can have it any time up to April but sometimes we can go for several years with none atall. Last winter we had it one morning in Feb . it had gone by the next day.
I remember once in the early 80s we had a heavy fall of snow. We couldn't get out of the door !. It didn't clear for several weeks. That 's the only time I remember it as bad as that in my lifetime.
I've only seen a white Christmas once, and even then it was only a sprinkling. It had gone by the afternoon.
