Aww... thank you my friends... it's nice to have friends who support you even when you know you've dropped the ball...lol...I planted echis because they are so well attuned to this climate...we've had some horribly humid weather and they are starting to look a little ratty tatty... but very showy.

Well they obviously thriving where they are Lori.....

Can you come and neglect my garden please.

I had this simple idea in mind, Milky: let them do their own thing... I planted a whole bed with Monarda, Echinacea, and spurge and decided to see what would prevail...it really is satisfying that they perform so well with so little supervision!!! lol. I really must do some weeding because the weeds are very happy without supervision too!

Wouldn't it be great to hold a goY come as you are party, Arlene? or a goY convention? or a magical mystery tour...we could start in Ireland ...and go to Wales and Scotland and then check out Yorkshire, Somerset...and Bristol...and .... I would love to see your gardens and have a chance to sit about and talk shop...wouldn't that be great???

Wonderful neglect Lori. Now I do have to try echinacea. See if they leave themselves for the next year. That really would be something.

They really do well with very little water. amazing that they and rudbeckia and to a slightly lesser degree, Yarrow, thrive in dry soil...and any type of soil...from sandy to clay (which I have)... they are marvels of adaptation...not many insects or blights to prey on them either!
