Hampton Court and Malvern for the last 4 years or so and love them~if anyone is interested Cardiff is 17th 18th and 19th.

Fabulous blog, Jacque, many thanks for sharing your day with us. I have been to Peterborough several times for the Japanese Automobile Extravaganza but didn't know of the Flower Show. I shall be putting that on our diary for next year!

~they don't sell plants at Chelsea Jacque unless you go on the last day for the sell off~go to Hampton court instead~the crafts Pavilion has everything, there is lots of gardening gear~really nice stuff and you can buy plants!Malvern is worth a visit too!

The last time we went to the Gardeners World show at the NEC Birmingham, Charles and Camilla came in the entrance a few yards from us~we were totally surprised how small they were!
They normally have different tv presenters on different days and you can sit and listen to presentations and ask questions etc~on the other hand Hampton Court Palace do a reduced entance if you have flower show tickets and it is within about 8 miles of Kew and Richmond has this wonderful Chocolatier William Curley ~makes gorgeous cakes and handmade chocolates.
All of them have show gardens but probably not as impressive as
Chelsea~however you will see more on Tv ~because of the hordes of people you have to queue.

see this Jacque
BBC Gardeners’ World Live returns to The NEC between 10 and 14 June this year with more opportunity to get up close and personal with the Gardeners’ World presenters than ever before to inspire visitors and help transform gardens and allotments across the country into a riot of colour, perfume and great-tasting fruit, vegetables and herbs.

New Gardeners’ World presenter and RHS gold medal winning garden designer Toby Buckland will join the line up giving live demonstrations in the Celebrity Theatre, which also features Carol Klein, Joe Swift, Adam Pasco and Monty Don. For the first time ever, visitors will also be able to see the BBC 2 Gardeners’ World team and the magazine team in action in the garden in the exciting brand new Live Garden feature.

Growing your own will be a big theme at the show and practical help and advice will abound. The Live Allotment will take shape throughout the show as experts and celebrities demonstrate all the essentials of successful allotment gardening. The Grow Your Own Area will boast its own stage and will be packed with useful products, displays and demonstrations offering visitors all the tips they need on how to live the good life and produce great tasting fruit, vegetables and herbs themselves.

In addition to inspiration from celebrities and experts, there will be over 25 Show Gardens demonstrating just what clever designs can achieve in a small space.

This year’s show will also be overflowing with stunning and unusual blooms ready to adorn the widest variety of gardens from the prettiest, rambling cottage garden to the most exciting exotic paradise. The spectacular RHS Floral Marquee will be back with over 100 specialist nurseries offering high quality plants with many rare and unusual varieties. Visit the RHS Orchid Feature to feast your eyes on exquisite displays of this beautiful and exotic species. Wander down the Plant Mall for a whole host of planting ideas and if you like to take cuttings from your favourite garden plants, why not bring some along and take part in the Plant Swap where you can trade your best plants for the highlight of someone else’s garden!

The show will be the perfect day out for beginners and enthusiasts alike with plenty of fresh ideas to help everyone create a stunning outdoor haven, perfect for relaxing, unwinding and entertaining.

Also part of the show this year will be the Countryfile area with its own stage where favourites including John Craven will be hoping to convince us to get out and explore and enjoy the British countryside.

BBC Gardeners’ World Live takes place alongside the BBC Summer Good Food Show and your great value ticket will admit you to both shows. With mouthwatering recipes and ideas for great summer picnics and barbecues, along with live demonstrations from top celebrity chefs including Ainsley Harriot, Simon Rimmer and the Hairy Bikers, where better to pick up ideas for all your summer entertaining?

To book your ticket for BBC Gardeners’ World Live please visit www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com or telephone the ticket hotline on 0844 579 3169. Tickets include a free showguide worth £10 and free entry to BBC Summer Good Food Show.
