Spritzhenry's Profile

About me

I am a keen gardener able to indulge since retiring. We moved here in January 2005 and feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful, tranquil place. Our garden is two-thirds of an acre and takes a lot of upkeep! We have a stream running through it. The soil is good but has a quantity of large chunks of rock in it which I hit when I dig! The garden is not low maintenance, and I'm a plantaholic. I love flowers, perennials especially, as well as shrubs and Clematis. I do make good use of my greenhouse for seeds and plug plants to fill gaps. I'm always up for new projects in the garden as you will see from my photos. I don't grow vegetables except tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse. Oh, and I love orchids, too - but indoors. I am pleased to tell you that the garden will be opening again this year for the NGS( 'Yellow Book'). The dates are June 3rd and 10th. It was lovely to meet GOY members here last year, and I'm hoping to meet more friends in 2010!
