Siris, I found the name of the plants on the stream bank -

SINACALIA TANGUTICA.

I typed it in capitals to try to get it into my head!

Me too - I have another one on the way by mail order!

On photo - Ribes x gordonianum

:-D)

I just hope we don't get a frost, Wildrose. I don't think it would like that! :-((

On photo - Senetti

But you're not counting, are you. ;-)

Indeed it was, Homebird. :-(((((

Sorry I still haven't remembered the name of that plant Siris, but no, it isn't Solidago.

I have several in the flood wall, Cariad. They often try to flower in the winter!

It certainly is, Loosestrife. :-))

On blog - One of my visions!

How beautiful, Andrew. :-)

On blog - Who was Albert?

Yes, I agree - or Thorncrofts. I've used both.

It is totally solid and safe, Eirlys, the pedestal is concreted onto the plinth and the pot full of compost is so heavy I certainly couldn't even try to lift it.

I think if the pot looks a bit 'empty' this year while things get going, I shall plant trailing pink petunias round the edge. :-0))

On blog - One of my visions!

I know it might take a year or more to get established and I mustn't get impatient, but it's hard to wait for my 'vision' to become reality!

Oh, I forgot to answer Brian - the pot measures 21" across and also in depth.

So am I! I'm glad you like it. :-)) Brian, if I took a photo from the other direction looking towards the house I think you'd change your mind - it looks 'right' against the stone of the house - but I take your point about the liner. Too late now!

:-))

They do indeed, Balcony - my darkest red rose is 'Guinee' as above - and I have various scarlet ones, too.

On blog - RICHARD = red.

Thank you, Junna. :-)

That was a *long* time ago, Stera!

You can get some real beauties, Taurman. I love 'Emily McKenzie', but she is a bit temperamental. :/

On blog - RICHARD = red.

Nice for me to look through my photos and pick some - shall I carry on with the 'O'?

On blog - RICHARD = red.

I used to teach it at my school, but with some misgivings in case the children thought the colours were correct! :/
