Plants are longday flowering or short day, although hybrids have been raised to give all the year round flowering, for example Chrysanthemums. As you say many come from abroad, or have been brought in many years ago.
I agree about the bears Leigh, our tortoise has just gone to sleep till April, I might join him Lol.

Sue's Fatsia flowers (if you could call it that) at any time of the year Nosey - as you say though, bees etc have no interest in it so I would have to guess that it relies on a specific species in the wild for pollination.

The frames suit them perfectly Leigh .. you should be proud of them .. they are stunning pieces of work .. :o)) x

They are very well framed and look very good on the walls. I especially find the first drawing very moving....I think it's the man's piercing eyes that do that.

Oh Np. You've done a spectacular job yet again. He's absolutely fabulous and should most definately be nominated for a no smoking add. (even though i still smoke myself). Were I younger and saw this face, I would definately reconsider starting to smoke. x

Fantastic painting again Np, and love the pic of you and Sid. If you did buy the old church, you could do it up and have your own art gallery!

Another beautiful picture Leigh .. you look far to comfortable on that couch ( who took the pic. ? ) I must be strange ! I don't like churches , I go cold and can't bare the smell , I get as far as the doors and then back away .. :o(
