NP, sorry to hear about your split. I think that you should do whatever you feel like doing with your self-portrait. If you wanna go dark, go all the way. Get that poison out and like everyone else said, by the time Spring rolls along maybe you'll feel like lightening up, or maybe not...we all go at our own pace :) Best wishes and warmest regards :) Keep up the creativity, love it! Very thick snow still here, My two grand-daughters are at work, but the two grandsons schools are closed, they say probably all week, they are Furious (HA HA ) LOL., as they love school, (I don't think), the youngest one plays the drums and the eldest one has a very noisy moped, so the neighbours are really pleased they are stuck at home.

Yes, I love the picture.
But NP has very kind eyes, even when he is sad. :o)
I'm sure he'll be perkier soon.

Noseypotter ~
Have you looked at my Winter Wellie blog lately ?
Someone has crept in, very close to the shortbread biscuits. Lol.

the sadness is only on the serface me thinks. you'll soon be back to your old self. i realy love the picture, :-))

Yes, I'm not going there either!
You're right about the finishing touches. I often think what I'm working on looks garbage, but you keep on to the end and somehow everything just seems to work once those final details are added.

Your real eyes are kind and friendly.
You've drawn the eyes a bit too cross.
Otherwise a very good drawing.:o)

Enjoyed all the pics, thanks for posting them. Interesting how different things look by adding one more element.
Perhaps it would be fun to cover things with something like chocolate pudding or jelly once the snows gone and see what that looks like.

lol good idea NP but Brooke is only 3 1/2, it's a bit far for her to walk to Asda, - it's about 3 miles away. but we did manage to go in the car, and we walked round to the corner shop for milk having snow fights on the way.

Cool photos Leigh. The snow brings out lovely detail in your sculptures. I especially like the second photo of the guy with the big teeth. :o)

You are right, noseypotter. It looks very different now. You are a brilliant artist - all your creations have emotions/things to say.

You were lucky that you had a mother that cared enough to send you to school Leigh , I had the original wicked step mother who use to keep me away so that she could keep the dinner money ... LOL... no it wasn,t funny I don,t know why i,m laughing ........

You made a good job of that fence I bet it does like great with the vine growing through it ..

Great work Leigh, and many thanks for posting up the photos of your fantastic new projects. It's also lovely to see all the research you have undertaken through your sketches and photos as well. The elephant sculpture is really exciting, and, I agree with you- they also happen to be my favourite creatures on this planet, and I think they are so graceful and majestic along with my other favourites which are Gorillas and Chimpanzees.
All best wishes and congratulations again.
