Hi Guys,
Hope your all good and feeling tiptop,
Spring is finally on its way in my garden though i havent done alot as yet.
Im trying to start slowly and not over do things after a bad year of illness last year, but hopefully thats all behind me now and just regular checks to go for.
Today after work i decided to take afew pictures, not much happening but little signs of hope comming on out there, but iv decided if all goes ok to have a few changed in my garden this year, not so many flowery plants but more foilage colour.
Im fed up of things not flowering because we dont get good summers, but will keep certain plants that flower, will see how it goes.
So a few pics to show you im still here and not forgotten i have a garden

As you can see things are starting to come to life just wish i would to haha, we are going to Benidorm begining of may for 8 days so im sure that will give me the kick start i need and hopefully weather will improve here to.
By the way a friend gave me her two goldfish as she was sick of cleaning the little tank out and her daughter lost interest, so now in my pond and a week on very happy and settled, so i have 10 now,
Take care all, happy gardening xx

Hi Terra thankyou so much, i dont have lots of flowery plants at the moment but just to see some colour cheers me up, hopefully i can get it looking at least tidy before we go away then when im back i can get my pots planted up.
The new fishies are similar colours to mine, Greys/multi but with them long floaty tails, very nice so glad they are ok in my pond :o)) xx

Hi Paul and many thanx, i love the spirea to its a warm glowing colour :o)) x

Spirea is gorge!
Am wondering what is still actually in my garden and what will flower this year!
No goldfish....only 3 minnows and lots of toad eggs. I miss my fish. Am re thinking the pond. I was going to lift it, level it on the ground and put turf dug up from my shrubs around it, like a small hill. Then I see newts laying eggs and all sorts going on and now not sure if I can move it without disturbing the wildlife!

thanx Lou, i would think carefull before moving cause when i redid mine was loads of baby froggies at bottom under mud, not sure when best time would be infact as you are bound to disturb something, could you not leave that one for wildlife Lou then have a new one for fishies :o))
i have a net over mine all the time now cause of Herons taking fish :o(

Lovely blog San. I see your Spiraea is doing wonderfully! Great to hear about the fish you inherited. Hope your health will be tip-top from now on. :)

San, I'm very envious of your Pulsatilla in photo 2, everyone but me seem to have theirs in bloom! Will you go for variegated shrubs to brighten up the garden? I think they look especially good in the Autumn and Winter when the flowers are coming to an end. Your new fish sound very exotic! Keep smiling ... :o)

A lovely selection San ,your garden is awash with early spring colour , you know I always think of you when my Jack Frost is blooming because you introduced me to him :o))

I agree with you Shirley, but I lost a few variegated shrubs this winter...I don't think they are as tough as normal green vars.

Hi San good to see you again, hope after your trip to Spain you will be up and raring to go, amazing what a little break can do......

Hi San its good to see a blog from you, pleased to hear you are better now and hope it stays that way, you'll soon get back into the garden now your health has improved and lets face it the hard work has already been done, its never a case of finishing as we are always finding new plants and shrubs that we like and that often calls for change but thats the good bit, after last years debacle I wasn't going to bother with so many either but it isn't working that way as I once again have trays full of seedlings of bedding for this year, I'll never hang myself and thats a fact!!!!!

18 Apr, 2013

Your garden has sprung into life and colour and hope the new fish settle in well too. We've lost lavenders and other plants so have been looking for replacements.

Good to hear you are getting stronger again take it easy at first!
