The backyard potting shed/folly

This picture was taken 2 years ago, the garden has completely changed and "grown up" since then. I will have some other pictures soon.My husband built this shed from scratch and we continue to "embellish" it.

Things you create yourself are much better than mass produced factory stuff. They're more original and have more character. : )

I love this shed. When I first got married I lived in a garden shed for three months but it was nothing like this. we had a blow up lilo to sleep on and a 12 and sixpence plastic hanging wardrobe from Woolworths to put our clothes in......It's a long story....Gave up jobs...moved to I.O.Wight....House fell through....Lived in shed in relatives garden....bought another house and did it up.....and so on.Lindak.

Doesn't MikeC have the matching birdhouse?
Paul is planning to erect a workshop/garage in his back garden, will show him this to try to influence his design ..... so much more attractive than the usual garden shed/workshop.

Just enjoyed a lovely walk through your garden, it's coming on really well in the time you have been there, Your shed/folly is terrific!

Gillian...thank you for all the lovely comments. I feel my garden is pretty humble in comparison to so many on this site...I'm a work-in-progress as a gardener. I figure the best way to learn is from others who know so much more than I do..and you all are definitely on this site. Too, thanks for the suggestions on the sunny side of the house. My husband thanks you for your kind words on his shed...I absolutely love it too, and we do spend a lot of time our there in the evenings sitting on the little deck around the firepit! Take care...
