cherry trees can get pretty big hence the invention of the cherry picker lol

i would drill some drainage and put a plant friendly preservative inside and out.then get some polythene perhaps black and put some drainage in that.staple it just above the soil line and it will stop the rot a bit.i would empty it every couple of years and repaint it to keep the rot at bay.wood does very badly next to damp soil but you can keep it at bay to a degree

its a red leaved cherry not a copper beech or maybe even a plum

buy lots of native and unnative flowers so they can help themselves i guess

some climbers will take over another climber bye strangling it or being more vigerous but there shouldnt be much of a problem realy

well realy if you want the pond natural i would let it alone as far as plants go.incourage plants braught bye birds etc bye putting a bit of topsoil in the pond.infact put the moulded pond below ground level.you can cover the edges with some natural stone,slate etc and it will become homes for the various frogs,toads , insects when they over winter or climb out.perhaps go and look at a well established natural pond and see what is in and around it.nature has a wonderfull way of filling empty voids like your pond.

the slab has nowear to go once youve put it in the grass.you only worry when you put lots together ie a patio.you can use the same cut out method for natural stone etc

cheers and thanx and all that www.noseypotter.com i cant weight to do it but it cost a bit and got so much going on.im either all or nothing in whatever i do lol.i like to show how i did it .i got nothing to hide and it just mite inspire you.art realy is a beautifull thing.im goibg to make the front look like a police van and everyone moves out the way and lets you out more lol.the van that is.im keeping the roses as they were my dads faverite r.i.p called blue moon and the other as its the first abstract i ever did .it will stop the dogs brighten up the garden and shine some mad colousrs about.im going to do roubmd ones in my concrete wall with the odd mirror.the council wouldnt change my door so i did lol.im goint to start using clay again and get this show on the road.going to apserlootlee mad in the back gardem before next junes open garden.we rase charity for the st nicolas hospice.anyway ill stop running on take care bye for now xx
