Good work, Leigh! ?

Yes thats true, were you picturing anyone in your mind for either of them Nosey or is it just the way they turn out as you work, my daughter-in-law likes to draw and paint and is actually quite good, we all have drawings and paintings in our homes that she has done for us but she always has a card or photo in front of her, says she cannot just work from memory.....

Excellent....the bottom one, with a bit of facial hair could be Ron Moody's Fagin!

Theres still the question of what came before the big bang?......

the priests missed out a lot and added more, any references to women in any sort of religeon for example...

nature is cruel too though Nosey, look at the animals, they have to kill to eat.....and even plants strangle others.....
survival of the fittest I suppose.

All very deep for the turn of the year, I wish you peaceand health in 2015 Leigh

Following on from what you both have said, I read was God an astronaut as a teenager.....it made me think then and still does

I try to understand Brian Cox too, when we look up and really try to see the stars, then realise each star we see have their own solar system and what we see is a minute part of the whole which is infinite to us....
then look microscopic and see similar I just wonder.......

I was on a airplane flying from somewhere to somewhere. The plane was at 38,000 ft. Then I looked out the window and down at the earth. Humanity was down there but inperceptable from that altitude. It was then the idea struck me. From that perspective humankind is no more than a very thin biofilm on the surface of a big round stone. I might have as well been looking down at a rock in my garden. Humans think that they are all powerfull, all knowing and have great influence and significance but that is because they are looking at the world from brains that are about six feet from the ground with most other lifeforms at a lesser height. Second thought, looking back at the goings on in the past Twentieth Century, we did one hell of a job in limiting our population growth and it looks like that it will continue into the Twentyfirst Century. Third thought, so He knows the truth and we must balance our beliefs upon what He presents as His cornerstone of truthfulness; Ye Gods and little Fishes Sir Attenborough. Final thought, I often get the impression that people who discuss or predict the end of the world, aka, the human race, have a desire for it to do so within their lifetime. Not, so easy, don't forget that we ARE a PART of nature too and nature is a very very slow moving river taking us along in its flow in its own time. To where? We will never be capable of knowing that, after all, nature is full of surprises.

Him and his brother went to school in Leicester. ....I think very highly of him, wonderful man.

Where I live I see the villages joining up to the towns, and the towns to the city.
more and more and more houses and industrial areas on prime grazing and agricultural land less and less room to breathe........

no one seems to see whats being created on our once green and pleasant land......

yet as a human he is one of the nicest I've ever met. He inspired me in my chosen career, as did Dr David Bellamy.

Sometimes I stand on a hill and look out over what used to be a green valley and think what a plague we are.

Amazing, as ever :-)

Hi Leigh, great work, {as usual}, when I first looked at the first 1, I thought it was a sculpted head, that you had put a pair of glasses on, then I realised it was a painting, so realistic, Derek.

Fab pics

merry Christmas Leigh.

Know what you mean about tattoo's. My eldest girl's partner is a tattooist and as you can imagine he is heavily designed. He is one of the gentlest lads one could wish for. He is really into 3d naturalistic designs, insects being a speciality.

Hope you have a wonderful happy and healthy 2015.

I used to love humbugs in the days when sweets came in paper bags filled from glass jars. . You never see them now.

Lots of talent there.
Merry Christmas.

I like the green bark, but best for me is the study of the face. Its odd, you have managed to make it appear to have the same texture as your scuptures - was that intentional? The bee looks good framed and on the wall.

I was going to say baaaa humbug to you too,but you got there first :o)

Lovely to see your Sculptures and Art work again ,Leigh..I think the fence is my favourite too,and your Lion is brilliant..Happy Christmas, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in 2015..

Ha HA, the faces are back in place. All of your work is so clever. Not a slave to prettiness either. Your very quirky sculptured fence is a real tour de force.

I like the first head. And, I think I remember, when you were working on it. It´s a pity, transportation of that head to Slovakia would be rather complicated :-)

wow you are very talented.

Great blog.
I love,in particular, the plants cascading from the sculpture by the front door!!

Hey Np..great to see how your creations are developing. Love the way you have kept the teeth and eyes clean. Might copy u again and do the same with our effort...merry Christmas xxx

They are miraculous rotating Kon-Tiki sculptures, lol. Hi, Noseypotter, I wonder, how did you make that head to be covered by moss since the summer. Is it because of the fertiliser which you added to the superficial cement layer? I think your heads of a Green Man would be suitable to parks, did you ever offer them to those intrigue makers at the ´Town Hall?
Merry Christmas to you.

I think all insects and creepy crawlies, especially stingy/poison ones look rather forbidding if they are large or enlarged Nosey. David Attenborough had a programme recently with some huge creepy crawlies in it. Lots of legs, poison fangs and skin secretions but very interesting to see them and how they live in their ecosystems. Your art is really good...brilliant.
