About me

We are getting on a bit. For the first time I have this 40 by 50 foot garden getting difficult to keep going. Now it is all clean and tidy and colourful (Spring 2012) I feel better about coping. We used to have a very large garden, 26 years ago, so it's a good job we moved. We grew lots of veg and had very large pear trees, raspberries and logan berries. We had an offer for this plot we could not refuse and new neighbours who were noisy. So we moved here. We completely renewed the garden. I like the bulbs to hide until spring. Its a riot. Fruit trees on dwarfing stock. Camellias on the back fence. Thornless blackberry and the strange jostaberry. Day lillies. Anything tall and weird like Veronicastrum and Bonariensis. Crinum. Fuchsias. Chives. I am waiting for my Angels fishing rods to dangle their bells. Saw them at Great Dixter. We have a little help with the garden but it is not usually difficult to tend, unless we are not well for some reason. I also have a patio with lots and lots of pots to keep watered, so may have to cut down on them a bit while it's so dry.
