This could well turn into a comedy of errors. So pleased with myself yesterday, for having managed to get my photos from the camera to the flash drive (or memory stick if you will) I decided to go out into the garden and take a few more. Ba-a-ad move. There are alot of seagulls here, and they haven’t heard of email. With me so far? Attired in clean Tshirt, I ventured outdoors once more. Now; right by the corner of the path that goes round to the greenhouse, there is a silver birch tree, and some of the heavily leafed slender branches hang quite low. Just low enough to catch in your hair if you forget to duck a little. I forgot. I reached up with my right hand to extricate twigs from hair. My camera strap was looped round my right wrist. Enough already! Rubbing ruefully at my now rather sore eyebrow, I carried on round to the greenhouse. I though you might like to see my tomato plants, and the small tree with the unusual red lantern flowers, on the corner. Turn camera on. ‘Memory full’ it gleefully informs me. No, I haven’t got round to getting a memory card, so I can only do 6 at a time. Head back indoors, avoiding the birch tree. It’s only when I have sat down at my laptop that I realise that I’ve already downloaded the photos in the camera, and I could have sat in the shade and quietly emptied the memory. Anyway, to cut a lengthening story shorter, I did eventually get to take some rather nice pics. Time to show them to GoY, I thought. Oh yeah? I’m not sure whether I did something to upset a computer in another life, but all its kin seem to have it in for me. Two hours I spent yesterday, trying to get photos into my blog. It can’t be that difficult can it? I’m not going to try any more until Wednesday. A friend is coming over who has more of an affinity with the dratted things. There’s probably something perfectly simple (it would have to be) that will sort it all out and then I shall look forward to somebody giving me the proper name for my ‘lantern tree’. Until then, I have fuchsias to pot on, weeds to pull, containers to water and a cat to feed. Never a dull moment! Thanks for sticking with it. CU soon.

Oh dear bigbumblebee this is proving far too complicated as youre using the cameras internal memory then having to download that.

Do you have a printer? Most have slots for SD memory cards that store many more images as only 6 at a time through this process is very limiting.

A memory card will really make things so much easier for you .

you sound just like me. I much prefer all film photography but then its difficult to share photos. i found my pictures were not loading coz i didnt wait from them to load. give at least 30-60 secs per photo before moving away [navigate away - see i can learn the lingo] to other areas of the site.
i'm glad i am not the only ludite.

:)) Sorry! I just find it hard to stop laughing at your "mishaps"! I maybe a little cruel but I really could imagine what you were going through!

I sympathize with you though because similiar things happen to me also!

Can't you delete the photos as soon as you have copied them to you PC? I use Windows' Photo wizard to copy them to my computer & there is a little box, where you can put a tick, that gives you the chance to delete your photos once copied. It also gives you the chance to give them a meaningful name & you can specify the folder where you would like to save them before copying anything. You can also turn them around so they look the "right way up" if you took a photo with the camera turned to the vertical. You can always edit your photos in a dedicated photo programme later.

About adding photos, there is a button at the foot of the page where you are writing that allows you to upload photos. Just click on it & a new window will open asking you where the photos are located. Click on the Browse button & search your PC for the photos you want to include in your blog. Wait till they finish uploading & then click on the button below your blog to save your blog as a draft. After a minute a new window will open where you will be able to see the photos you've uploaded. If you are happy with the result click on the button beside to Publish your blog or on the Continue Editing to make changes. If you make changes click on the Save as a Draft button to view the changes then on Publish your blog when you are happy with it.

Looking forward to seeing your photos! :)

That lil' "adventure" of yours sounds just like the sort of thing I do! When you mentioned the seagull's, I thought you were going to say they'd splattered all over you! That would just have been the icing on the cake, wouldn't it?

Oh dear, Bumble.
Sorry, but I'm laughing too.

Super blog, hun and I hope you get your pics sorted.

I am not going to laugh, cos I think you had a bad time! Well - if I do, only a chuckle.

Poor thing! I hope you get that camera and the techie stuff sorted! Good luck.

I can sympathize with the techno stuff difficulties. Having just about got to grips with it, my camera has died so I can't take any photos to post anyway. By the time it's fixed I shall have forgotten how to do it!
Love the blog.
