At Last!!

Thismorning, at an early hour, an envelope was posted through my letter box. Oh, I thought, the postman is very early (he usually comes early afternoon, on a good day!!)…I was browsing through the GoY site (naturally!) and didn’t take a lot of notice…..
Eventually….when I was ready to pour a second cuppa, I wandered through to the hall and picked up an envelope….with Louise written on the front…(That is my given name…)……On opening the envelope………..
…..it contained a letter from the “Amble Allotment Holders’ Association”…telling me that I have been offered……after a 15 month wait……an allotment plot……Yiiiippppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :o))))))))))))

I have to take my letter to the Association Hut after 9 January next year to let them know if I want to take it………………It would have to be chokka block full of trees and rubbish for me NOT to take it………………………………….
Hopefully, if we are not knee deep in snow tomorrow……..OH and I will be hot foot to the site (about a 5 minute walk) to see which one it is….I have a number……..24………..to identify…. and take pics…..so watch this space.:))))))

Fab! I'd love an allotment - not because I don't have space but because of the community spirit and knowledge to be gleened! Looking forward to reading about it.

Congrats Louise. I know what it was like when i got my lottie. So for Christmas you can look through the seed pamphlets, source your tools from car boot sales, weather permitting and as Muddywalters says, now that you have a blank canvas, plan your plot to the way you like it. Good luck.

That's great news Louise!

It's great to pack up for the day and head down to your plot, don't forget to keep any old nik naks, chairs, old barbie, table to put down there, your committee shouldn't mind as long as it's not ott,

I am going to put up a little picket fence in ours and grow squashes and hang them from it so i can keep them off the ground along with a passion flower plant and cup and saucer plant for decorative show too, it's an idea I saw in a book.

Don't forget your all important bee plants too so they can pollinate the fruit!

Have great fun in your new allotment my love! watch the back!

Regards, Micky 45
