Autumn glory plus Autumn tasks! ???

Today it is so still and warm that it is hard to accept that it is nearly November.
The colours in everyone’s gardens are stunning at the moment.
Here are a few pictures of our garden this morning, what joy it brings as well as an endless list of jobs which will get done – eventually!

Our tulip tree has a lot of huge leaves still to scatter on the lawn!

Lots of Autumn jobs are building up though!
These remaining apples high up in the old tree need picking, or they will be bouncing off the bonnet of my car!

The fallen leaves look pretty but must soon be swept or mown up.

Somebody has to deal with these, but thankfully it is not me!

I am, however, very pleased with our new log burning stove and it does keep us nice and cosy.

Enough of the chores, back to Autumn in all its glory.

?? Happy Halloween to you all ( not that I’m a fan by the way! ) ??

This has nothing at all to do with gardening but I thought you might like to meet my two new little friends who have found a home near the fire. Meet Jeremy and Jemima!

Lovely colours there! So glad the log burner is a success - are you pleased with it now? I remember you weren't convinced at the beginning? Its a good place for two little mice with cold toes...

Lovely Autumn colours there in Devon, and here in Hampshire. The leaves are dropping rapidly, not because it's that cold, just still very very dry soil.

lol Jeremy and Jemima are so cute :D

I'm not a fan of Haloween either. I never heard of it when I was little. People didn't seem to celebrate it back then.

Your garden looks nice and colourful :)
Autumn here has been much better than the summer was. It very often is. After spring it's my second favourite season :)

Nice little friends toasting their toes by a lovely log burner you are going to feel very comfy this winter, just hope it isn`t a severe one.

Thanks for all your warm and friendly comments.

I do like the log burner now as it gives out a very steady heat which doesn't all disappear up the chimney like the open fire did! It is cleaner than the fire as well.

What a beautiful Autumn it has been all over the country.
