Hi everyone! Karen here..starting a new garden with a new account. My old account was karensusan63.

This garden is in a very windy exposed site, with beautiful uninterrupted views of the Angus farmland around us. A hill to the south, but not high enough to block the low winter sun. Hills to the north as well, but not high enough to shelter us from the cold winds. We are 122m above sea level, 2miles from the beach at Monifieth.

In my garden I like lots of structure and colour all year around. I love small trees, flowering shrubs, roses, Bulbs and small or tidy growing perennials. I dont like perennials that only flower for a couple of weeks, messy growing shrubs and perennials that flop everywhere. I do like wildflowers and herbs and colour-themed areas. I love Hellebores. I don’t like plants that die badly. I do like things that repeat flower but I also love bearded Iris. I enjoy growing veg, but not to any serious extent. I have a few raised beds and a greenhouse for them.

From 2018 I will be opening my garden for charity under ‘Scotland’s Gardens’ scheme. I will be open every Monday in June and August.
