my garden now.

my garden now.

Well autumn is definitely here as all the leaves are falling from the beech tree.

\

I went away for one week and even more have dropped off. I was also lucky to get some sunshine for this photo.

\

So I wandered around today and noticed the Fuchsia ‘Harry Gray’ in flower first time this season. why so late i wonder? It did get a little dry in the summer so perhaps thats why. Still it is lovely, it will have to head off into the greenhouse soon.

http://media.growsonyou.com/photos/blog_photo/image/23729/main/Fuchsia_Harry_Gray_24.10.9.jpg!

A pretty pale pink chrysanthemum is coming into its own too. It is a lovely contrast with the Aster ‘Calliope’ on one side and the bears breeches on the other.

\

Some of my favourite flowers are in full swing, those being the cyclamen. I have them in pots and in the ground.

\

\

\

Now I just have to tackle the weeds that have arrived from no where and start to put plants to bed into the greenhouse. Oh that means i will have to clear it first and clean it out :o(

!

Lovely blog, but you've lost your Harry Gray!

24 Oct, 2009

You have some lovely Cyclemen colours pretty fuchsia too.

I have one that has just flowered for the first time this year too fuchsia that is, I too think it s because of the arid weather we have had, my standard is still flowering too.

The Cyclamen are looking lovely! I have one Cyclamen that has survived into it's 3rd year. I planted half a dozen 3 years ago but one died during the win & the others I don't remember what happened to them. One that is growing in a small trough amongst the miniature roses is still alive, though whether it will flower again or not I've no idea. They have become very "fashionable" in the last couple of years. They look really wonderful in the gardens!

The last photo, is it the photo of the Fuchsia that should have been higher up? I copied the link & opened it in a new tab but I was informed I didn't have permission to see it!!! :-o

I right-clicked on it, Balcony & it IS the Harry Gray!

24 Oct, 2009

yes it is the harry gray. I have had hardy cyclamen in the ground for over 10 years now. they do self seed freely too. I also have a 20yr old houseplant too.

WoW! I'm DEFINITELY getting me some biker blokes! (Digger's name for them!)

That beech tree is beautiful, even if the leaves are a pain to clear up! Lovely leaf markings on those cyclamen.

I think the photo of Harry didn't appear in your blog because it's missing an exclamation mark at the beginning of the string. I'd like to see it, Sbg, please???

its the final photo spritz. its the very pale pink fuchsia against the very mucky greenhouse. I do like the beech in the spring nad now. but in full summer it is very dark and dry under there.

24 Oct, 2009

No - I didn't mean there, Sbg - read the blog, and just before you mention the Chrysanthemum, there's a string, which I assume is a photo that hasn't loaded.

24 Oct, 2009

it has loaded but at the bottom. wether i loaded it twice or not i dont know. i did do some editing during the blog. that is harry gray. i might try and take better pictures of it tomorrow. if it isnt raining. [looks probable] :o)

I like the way the scene changes when the leaves fall from trees. The red cyclamen is very pretty.
