NOw where's that hardy Scots spirit, David.?.. Don a mac and build a fire in the back garden...get a big kettle and go for it...the kids will love it!!

The tops are pollenating and the silk is growing long...the cobs will start to become very fat and the silk will become brown .. boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes .then butter up a slice of bread and roll your cob in the thick butter...add a little salt or pepper to taste and you will have a wonderful treat!! We used to throw harvest parties that we called "Corn Roasts" even though the corn was boiled! great excuse to have a huge bonfire and cook outdoors...
