Do u remember the Photo back in Feb ? It had some Daffs Showin along with My Own Grown Primeroses :)

I was Waiting & Waiting For The Lovely Daffs to Open ! But Not Even a Bud On Them :( So @ wked i went Pansy Shopping for some Bargains to refill the Barrow with :) Those Frilly 1s i love so much had gone down from £3.50 to half Price so i got 12 for the Price of 6! Today i set about Planting Them :)

I Planted the Bluebells Centre This time & also popped in there Some Varigated Periwinkle,Black Grass & some White/Purple Violas i took from My Front Garden which were`nt needed out there any more
:)

So what do u all think Of My Barrow Now?

Pansies are such versatile undemanding plants, I love them. Last season I bought a packet of "Swiss Giants" from believe it or not Netto for the princely sum of 29p (I only went in for a bottle of wine!) and they were my star plants of the year.
Some are still flowering in my hanging baskets.
I will take some photos when I have the time.

Thanx Toto i plan on saving the Seeds from These do u think theyl come true ? Or is it only cuttings il get true Frillys from ??

30 Mar, 2009

I think they come true but would need to seek advice to make sure. It's certainly worth a try whatever happens. I'm sure that even if they don't come true you will still get some very nice pansies anyway. I have seen packets of seeds for these frilly ones but I don't know if they are grown under controlled conditions. It maybe that they are an F1 cross.

I love the barrow - it has got me thinking about containers I could be planting up now. I usually plant up my baskets over Easter weekend - I don't put them out, just leave them in the greenhouse but they do get a bit ahead of the game then.
