That's a brilliant aid for growing things from seed. I'm very envious. I bet Owen thinks it's a great adventure like having a big tent in the garden!

17 Feb, 2009

my old english teachers would be gobsmaked that not only can i read and remember some of these latin words but i have spell them too. the likes of sisyrinchiun and cryptomeria but it does get easier the more i write it down.lol

Yes Ade...09,
I know the polytunnels work out cheaper but unfortunately I live on a very windy corner at the bottom of a hill and the wind seems to get trapped and swirl round our garden. I had a greenhouse but the wind was so strong it not only smashed the glass but actually bent and twisted the frame very badly. So I replaced it with a potting shed. It's a compromise because it isn't as good for propgating as it doesn't let in so much light, but it is heavy enough not to get blown around. Even our brick wall was blown down 2 years ago!

17 Feb, 2009

we lost our greenhouse in the wind a few years ago, it got the better of the potting shed tooo. but we have more siccess with the tunnel. they do seem the best in a windy place.

17 Feb, 2009

Oh, that surprises me but I suppose if it should get damaged, it's easy and quite cheap to replace the cover as opposed to glass.

17 Feb, 2009

ours has two inch diamiter steel poles. from northern polytunels. their shape lets the wind roll over the top. we live right on the coast of the irish sea and have to deal with very string winds. the last cover lasted five years and we took it off becouse it was showing signs of wear and tare.
