SHOWING OFF TIME AGAIN!

Well, tho I say it myself, its a hive of industry here in my little Bristolian garden…again (just a tick..polishing me halo again)
I discovered that good things come out of bad..I was bad and spent lotsa money on some new plants…but Ive been good because as soon as they arrived I potted them all up, and they are now happily sat on my garden table supping up a drop or two of rain.
4 agapanthus
13 potentillas (herb.)
3 geraniums
1 poppy (from which I pinched a few roots and potted them up too)
A morning well spent…and I feel quite saintly to say nothing of the fact that I escaped the housework!

25 Jan, 2011

25 Jan, 2011

Well, Im soaking wet and my camera's waterlogged, but as Im scared of bullies, Ive done it!

25 Jan, 2011

and very nicely too Tet, now I believe you with all this evidence, well done,

25 Jan, 2011

Good-oh! she says, whipping out her halo again!

25 Jan, 2011

Bless her!!!!!!.We weren`t bullying honest, lol. Its nice to see anothers hard work.....Anyway I told you my reason was envy.......

25 Jan, 2011

Ive got a fair few packets of seeds to do and Im itching to have a go, but they are all for early spring...guess its a bit too early yet. and I dont have any heated propagators. Otherwise I would still be in the greenhouse and my camera would be dry!

25 Jan, 2011

I haven`t used my propagators for years, I just start everything off in the greenhouse, takes a bit longer to germinate but not enough to worry about..
BTW, lovely pics.......

25 Jan, 2011

Will pm you Lincslass...and thanks..lets hope they all survive!

25 Jan, 2011

25 Jan, 2011

lol at all comments, poor Tetra all that work and you get stick hahaah, well done as you have done far more than me this year, so hold your halo with pride :o))

25 Jan, 2011

Thanks Sanbaz, nice to have someone to stand up for me! Tho my halo is in the dustbin at present, I havent cooked tea of OH yet..and he's hungry! He will be howling like Yorkie's OH soon!!
If its a case of housework or greenhouse, Im ashamed to say the greenhouse wins hands down so I guess mine's a green halo, whereas yours is probably golden!

25 Jan, 2011

well you did more than i did tetra, outside anyway! ive been very busy on the computer but i have cooked too! no point doing housework when builders are in ~ very good excuse!

25 Jan, 2011

25 Jan, 2011

25 Jan, 2011

Oh well done Tet, haven`t you been busy, it almost makes me feel like getting out in the garden too but its raining yet again!

25 Jan, 2011

Not in the greenhouse Labdancer..and to make it even better, our outside light is right over the greenhouse...many a midnight hour and predawn escapade Ive had in there! With plants, naturally!

25 Jan, 2011

Not with gigolo then? lol! nice one tetrarch....fantastico!

25 Jan, 2011

No, the gigolo stays wrapped up in the warm Karen, he feels the cold more than me..and I prefer the cold to Match of the Day!

25 Jan, 2011

tee hee! ;)

25 Jan, 2011

You have been busy and in the rain too! You're way ahead of me with your little plants and seeds.

26 Jan, 2011

But you live in the Garden of England Gee...you will soon overtake me!

26 Jan, 2011

I'll have to pull my boots out of the mud first, Tetrarch - more rain/sleet today. Just returned from my usual walk in the woods with Millie and although the flooding has eased the trails and tracks are just thick sticky mud :)

27 Jan, 2011

Oh Tetra, you put me to shame....Garden too cold/wet/ugh/, so haven't done much...but is is only January! Great blog and well done...Hope that halo back on head and glowing brightly.....

27 Jan, 2011

Oh even MORE so Flori...10 Salvia Rose Queen plugs and 8 Lobelia Vedrarensis arrived this morning..all potted up. Im still waiting for some Erysimum plugs and fuchsia plugs to arrive..ohh..nearly forgot the chrysanths...about 18 of those!

27 Jan, 2011

Sounds like a miserable time for you presently Gee. I certainly hope you are not too near the Medway..all that terrible flooding they had a year or two back. Still, you are posting some amazing bird and mouse pics...so you are busy just in a different way..and I love them all.

27 Jan, 2011

I'm not near the Medway, Tetrarch, I'm just off the Romney Marsh which accounts for the high water table! Never mind, it's beautiful here most of the time and I love living here :)

27 Jan, 2011

Ahh the Romney Marshes, takes me back to my Monica Dickens books with Tamzin and her pony!

27 Jan, 2011

monica dickens ~ did she write those nurse stories as well?
have you got or do you live in a library tet?

27 Jan, 2011

Monica Dickens wrote One pair of Feet and One pair of Hands - one of those was about nursing (probably the feet one!). I think the horse books were Follyfoot. I think Monica Edwards wrote the Romney Marsh books with Tamzin in them but I have never read them.

27 Jan, 2011

If only you knew!! I gave up counting my books 20 years ago! Dont know whether she wrote nurse stories. I only read animal stories when I was young and I have nearly all of them now..plus classics like J Austen, loads of thoroughbred stud books english and foreign, Tolkein, Harry Potter (natch), sc-fantasy, Child/Rankin/Connelly thrillers, gardening books, cookery/travel/history and bios..I have 11 bookcases full, plus boxes of them in the loft! My office is a library with 2 puters and a single bed thrown in!

27 Jan, 2011

i would stay in there if that was mine ~ i long to have a wall covered in books ~ loads of mine are in the garage which is not my idea. i have boxes down there but bookcase in the kitchen ~ nearly all cookery books plus a dictionary and a thesaurus, another bookcase in the bedroom and another in the spare room.
i quite like thomas hardy but i think my favourite classic is jane eyre.

27 Jan, 2011

Oh you cant beat Austen Sticki, she wouldve loved this site..dry humour, tongue in cheek..

28 Jan, 2011

Oooooh....you've been one busy lady :) Loved reading all the banter on the comments!

Our house is filled with bookcases and books too....but I've thinned out many of mine...hubby keeps bringing more home and there just is no more room for any more bookcases. Like many of you, we have some in boxes in the garage too.

Nothing doing here on the garden front....but with the days getting lighter, longer it does feel like spring is on the way (I dream a lot!...lol).

Plenty of sunshine here the last few days...hope it's the same in your neck of the woods (although you do mention some rain, T.).

28 Jan, 2011

Hi Jacquie, you having a wakeful night? Just grey and drear and overcast here, damp and misty.

28 Jan, 2011

clear blue sky here but below freezing all day.

28 Jan, 2011

Yup us too!

28 Jan, 2011

It's rainy today, with spells of clearer moments and mild. And yes, M....still having sleepless nights! Ugh!

2 Feb, 2011

Ive not been too bad lately, getting off to sleep better..still up couple of times, but no long wakeful periods thank goodness. Hope it improves for you..it does get one cranky!
