Well..not a bad day

Didnt rain, bought some bargains, potted the rest of my Dutch Iris, decided on 9" pots, one bulb in each so i can dot around the garden..
Potted the two climbing roses I bought for friends. One friend in Cyprus at present, her son’s name is Paul and he has emigrated to Aus..she has a Paul’s Scarlet not doing anything this year..pretty poor specimen now, so got her a new one for 99p!
Then potted my Nectarocondoms or whatever they are called, sort of alliums..got 8 blubs for 1.98.
Also potted the Centurea..not sure this any good, very dry root..still give it a go and see what happens..only 99p right?
Finally, potted my two clematis. Taking a chance here. Big pot and put both in same one! Viticella Venosa Violacea..why cant they just say purple veins and be done with it. And Princess Diana. Hoping to train them thru the climbing roses on lower terrace behind the table and chairs..maybe they will climb around the railings too.
Even got my hair cut..phew, two glasses of wine and Im sleepy..
Note to Spritzhenry – while I can buy roses at cheapjack shop for 99p, wont be taking cuttings any time soon!
Will be potting on the heucheras because we still havent done the alterations to the centre bed yet.
Must put a bomb under my Master digger/path layer to get that in progress.

Now Mrv has given me this tip on Pound Shops, I shall be haunting same for bargains. Btw Simbad, Ive collected some packaging so will be digging up your daylily fans soon

Anyone want some white irises???

Lovely Irises.
I have grown Clematis in pots and sometimes they're not too bad. Viticalla Venosa Violacea is lovely. I have one, and it coveres an arch.

Thanks Hywell. Im glad the Venosa Violacea is good. Its not very big at the moment so Im hoping it will get thru the winter okay. The picture on the packet certainly looks stunning

It should get through the winter. I've had mine many years, and brought it here with me when I moved.
