I'll have to look it up, Toto - no idea!
RHS book - spring!
On photo - Interesting seed heads
I'm going to have a go at removing some - wish me luck!
On blog - Good Do-ers!
They are dreadful to dig out, though - do you find that, Dawn?
On blog - Good Do-ers!
You got a real bargain there! I'd have done the same in your shoes. :-))
Oooohh! I don't think I'll try eating mine, though, Bamboo!
Thanks - I'd like to know the name of the food.
On blog - Awkward Orchids
Ooops! I don't put my Phalaenopsis outside - too many hungry snails out there! No - I don''t think a yellow one is all that unusual? I have a yellow-ish one. They're pretty!
They don't seem to have a season, not like Cymbidiums do. I usually have several in flower at any one time, while the others are producing new stems.
Well done for nurturing them! Had they stopped flowering? Was that why they were cast-offs?

They might be 'anonymous pink ones', but they are useful, aren't they!
On blog - Good Do-ers!
Interesting - this is a blog on 'Muck' - not 'mucky songs', Mg! LOL.
On blog - Mucking about!
No more songs like that, then? Not that I know any, of course! LOL. OK - you can come out now!
On blog - Mucking about!
Oh, and does that mean that a move is imminent?

I should think so too, Mg! LOL. You shouldn't know songs like that!
Sorry, Pip - I thought you meant that little violet photo I posted.....

Ummm....errrrr.....not sure - let me think about it.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
No thanks! LOL
On blog - Good Do-ers!
Errr...I don't think so! Poor little things - they'd turn into 'shrinking violets' I reckon! LOL.
On blog - Mucking about!
Well, this is 'zider' country, me deario! LOL.
Seriously, I do hope you can make it next June - that would be great! :-))

I'll look it up in my RHS book and get back to you, Pip!

People have different reactions to different plants - you may be allergic to the bristly stems/leaves, or to the sap. Ny husband gets an allergic reation to Ivy if he even brushes against it.
Gunnera is not on the RHS toxic list, by the way.
I would try calamine lotion to soothe the rash.
On question - how poisonous are gunnera plants...
Ha! So I am of use sometimes! LOL. Good - I'm glad! It's so pretty all the year round.

Thanks, all. Yes - they sure do! I will tell you a little story - Are you sitting comfortably? etc. LOL.
The 'New Dawn' rose on the front of the house flowered very sparsely the first year we were here. I found a source of horse manure while walking Henry - and asked permission to take some. After the rose had been mulched and some dug in round its roots, WHOOSH!! I've never seen such a transformation! Up went long and healthy shoots - and in the summer, SO many flowers!
So husband built a bin just for manure, and we go and collect it as and when. It's natural stuff, organic, wonderful, and I don't think of it as 'pooh' at all! :-D

I'm so glad that it's helpful to you. I'll try to think up some more!
Welsh poppies? Sorry, Ba. They just won't grow here! I haven't seen any in any open gardens in the area, either. :-((((

Hahaha!

Pip - the two names are for the same plant, according to my RHS book. There aren't two different ones - it's an a.k.a - or 'syn.' to be correct! lol.
