San, did you see that prog. with Prince Charles all about the restoration of the big house at Dumfries? It was very interesting, i loved it and he is doing a lot of good there building affordable homes for folk and restoring the gardens and house. They have opened a tea room which looked nice (well the cake did!) Lol

Hi San the piece you gave me is growing well , it has some nice big leaves I will take a photo when it stops raining ,it didn't flower this year but then we had a drought last summer & through the winter perhaps it will flower late with all this rain !

Enjoyed your blog Sandra, we used to visit Edinburghoften when I was a child [we had relatives there] and the castle was a must! Last time I was there was with Harry to see the Tatoo which like Sandra says is very moving ;0)

Glad you enjoyed your trip north Sandra. The Scottish National Gallery is one of our favourite places too. I have never been in the castle....too expensive. :o) I know what you mean about visiting gardening friends, our other halves would feel out of place.

Under the gunnera all the gorgeous eucalyptus with the amazing bark, all so different, and did you see those young trees related to the monkey puzzle tree that are on the endangered list, we look out at the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man, we,re in Luce Bay near Port William......
