after endless rain i couldnt wait any longer to cut the grass, it was begining to look like a meadow, so after work i got straight to it, quite wet still but cut ok,i know alot of you havent had rain and are suffering from awfull burnt and dried out grass which now resembles straw, so here`s a nice picture of green grass to remind you of what its like, see how kind i am thinking of you all;o)))

hope it brings back happy memories and feel free to sit and stare for as long as you like my friends xx

31 Jul, 2010

Oh how green with envy i am (ahem!) mine is brown patches!! never mind i'm sure it will come back again after some more rain, then i'll be moaning it needs cutting!!!

31 Jul, 2010

Can you come and cut mine please, with work and rain, I just don't seem able to get on it. Personally I like it hot and sunny because it donesn't need cutting - hope the hose pipe ban is soon lifted.

31 Jul, 2010

I gazed in awe of your lush, green lawn ... it rained a little overnight and early morning ... I'm that desperate that I put 3 garden buckets out to catch the rain water ... pathetic amount of about 2" in each !

31 Jul, 2010

was hard work carol and took 4 boxes from mine, couldnt believe it, feel better for doing it though ;o))
lol sewing... yes we are never happy are we ;o))

31 Jul, 2010

LOL, Sandra ! !

31 Jul, 2010

Shame you can't send some down here, Sanbaz! We had a little rain over night but it didn't wet more than the top 1cm of the soil on the allotment! The moment we have a little sun it will all evaporate as fast as it came down! LOL!

Nice to see GREEN grass again instead of straw coloured grass we have around here.

31 Jul, 2010

Spndid San....a really beautiful lawn you have.......I'm really envious...even though we've had rainy spells and lots of heavy cloud, our lawn is getting browner by the day...:o(( Can't believe what we've done today....saw a beautiful tiny Jack Russell pup and brought her home! 3 pees and 2 poos later....Lol!

The only way my grass turns green like yours is to go out and paint it. Rain in my garden? What rain? We probably had the driest and hottest summer since 1976. Watering with a hose is not the solution. If the atmospheric conditions are not right, it will refuse to grow. I tried it in my garden and I only burned my money, as I am on a water meter. So wait and pray the rain remembers us.

Forgotten how lovely a lawn can look......had some rain over night, not enough, but more to come thank goodness, yours is a picture San...

31 Jul, 2010

Lovely green grass Sandra and well worth all the hard work you've put into it.

While you're sitting there with a "long glass of something" think about me sitting here dry as a bone and doped up on pain killers! Lol (I could murder a beer right now! ! !)

I have two lawns, the one at the bottom of the slope is very green but the top side lawn looks like it's gone forever :-((( I'm hoping it will come back when we get some rain. Yours looks lovely :-)))

12 Aug, 2010

thanx annella im sure yours will come back just fine, i remember what a mess mine was after digging my pond, it was awfull, but after a good weed and feed and lots of rain its back to normal ;o))

Living in a flat I, obviously, don't have a lawn to look after but there is some grass around the block & a small patch outside our balcony. I sometimes refer to it as our lawn or just a patch of grass. The council gardeners look after it for us but they never water, weed or feed it! :-( ;_) They only cut it once a week when it is actively growing. This year though it has looked more like a dried out, straw field! Though after a few showers in the last few weeks it is beginning to green up again.

12 Aug, 2010

thanx balcony for looking in, know what you mean about council, where my sons flat is, they let it go mad before cutting then when they do they leave cuttings flying everywhere and dont edge it if at all, and call themselves gardeners lol

12 Aug, 2010

Our council gardeners are just the opposite, Sanbaz! They come round quite regularly & do the edging around the flower bed. They very often gather all the grass cutting & another guy with a strimmer does all the places where a mower can't reach. That's the only thing I don't like as the cutting fly all over my balcony & the 3 white containers! :-(

Our council is very good at looking after the public parks & gardens & the plant containers around town. All the grass verges are regularly cut & strimmed & in general the town looks fairly clean & tidy. :-)

12 Aug, 2010

thats great balcony, maybe they could teach blackpool council a thing or two ;o))
