I was only talking about you the other day with my daughter, Leigh. [tattoos!] Lovely to see you haven't lost your creative touch. :o)
We used to have a tank that size many years ago 30yrs ago] but when we moved we had to leave it behind as it was built into the wall. The new owners were delighted to pay extra for the fish too. My favourite was a 10" Plec. We then didn't replace the tank. Pond fish instead.
have you still got your lovely dogs?

Well hello there, welcome back Np, you have been a busy chap, the room and fish tank look great, hope you are pleased with what changes you've made. I do like the wrinkly man and his colour, that must have taken an age to complete, loving your fish design fence, typically you, made me smile to see it and we all need to do that when admiring things don't we....

If you can NP please take a few pictures to show the progress setting up the inside of the tank....structures, filter pump etc thank you. By the weight you mentioned the tank holds about 260 gallons. You will probably do this first but I just thought to mention it, fill it up to max and let it set for a week to see if anything leaks before you begin your setup.

That tank is big enough for a mermaid....lol. at least you have the pictures of the head. ?

Are you on a slab or do you have a subfloor or basement? If you have either of the latter you might need extra floor support. One gallon of water is about eight pounds I think. How many gallons is your tank?

That's a shame about your statue Leigh, I do love fish tanks though :) I have two tanks at the moment myself and I'm in the middle of stripping down a Discus setup, That's a nice size tank mate what fish are you thinking of keeping?

Gosh Leigh, what devastation - you must really really have wanted that fish tank! Have you got a replanting plan?
On blog - smashing in my own head
Ah Leigh what a shame But if it means having your hearts desire thats a small price to pay for it ,we'll look forward to seeing the next master piece in its place , what are you going to put in the tank its big enough for a Shark Lol xx

Nice to see you are still looking on the positive things in life. What was a lovely sculpture I'm sure will be replaced with nothing but greatness.

No worries Nosey - Loosestrife, I have a feeling that Black Rot is something which is, lucky for us, confined to your country and not a problem in ours.
On question - my mum has too different kinds o...
Would be useful to see one or two of the apples in that state, but since we can't, it sounds to me like Brown Rot. It often starts in fruits that have been damaged, say by bird pecks or penetrated with codling moth, and the brown rot sets in later. Another cause is a lot of fruit on the tree (not thinned out if it needs it) so that the fruits are touching, combined with wet weather and humid conditions, that might trigger an attack. The trouble is, the rotted fruits should be removed as soon as they're noticed, if they're not, the fungus that causes the trouble can overwinter on the twig behind the rotted fruit, or in the rotted fruit itself if its still hanging on the tree, ready to infect next year's crop, which would explain why the problem's getting worse. All fallen rotted apples should be cleared away as quickly as possible.

In addition to the apples do you or your mother see anything wrong with the apple trees leaves, trunk or branches? I ask this because I am thinking of a fungal attack called black rot. If it is this problem and there was an orchard and profit motive involved the methods to contain this problem would be worth the time, cost and trouble. Otherwise for two trees, cutting back diseased and dead growth, discarding of it in such a way so as to not spead the disease and spraying the trees with a fungicide and then waiting a few years for recovery might be impractical.

That Gourami* is a whopper, a real Jaws! Our tank is much smaller as are our fish. We did have a big tank and advertised it free of charge of Freecycle, We warned people how big and how heavy it was (minus water) but people arrived who expected to be able to pick it up with one hand. A teacher actually wanted to carry it full of water and tadpoles from class to class. Unbelievable!
Do you paint as well as sculpt?
* Good job it's not a Piranha!
