fantastic pics, Lulu.. many times I come from work and instead of cooking or taking a rest I grab my camera to catch that lovely sun on my plants... not that many, but still...

Doesn't matter about editing, lovely pics.

Juicy photos Lulu! I think your first pic would lend itself to being transformed into a mosaic? Or is that just me? I can just see it as a long narrow strip with a background a bit like your dragonfly, and loads of tiny red blocks of a lovely clear glass, the colour of blood! All the lobelia shots are just beautiful, such rich colour, yum! Beautiful pics Lulu!

Sticki, I have loads of baby knautias.....if you would like one. They flower all summer, self seed and are evergreen in little clumps in the winter.

Glad you enjoyed girlies!

17 Aug, 2011

You've a lovely collection of salvias - such a range of colours.

19 Aug, 2011

You've inspired me to do the same, now, Lulu. They were such beautiful, clear photos. I have a red Acer palmatum dissectum (I think!) and that is absolutely brilliant scarlet with the sun behind it. SUN? What sun? By the way, what's the name of that grass just before the lobelia close-ups? It's got such attractive seed heads, hasn't it? Thanks for the inspiration, anyway. Annie

19 Aug, 2011

Hi Annie, glad you are inspired!
Am not at home at the mo, just will check the name of that grass next week!
Lovely sunny day up in York today but rain coming in for the week end :(
Thanks Wagger, am hoping they will survive the winter!

19 Aug, 2011

They are all lovely photos Lulu but for me that Lobelia really is a queen.

19 Aug, 2011

Lovely pics, Lulu. You could print the first one and have it framed!

19 Aug, 2011

Some lovely pictures there, i really like the first one with verbena bonariensis sitting behind the salvia.

19 Aug, 2011

Glad you enjoyed my sunny garden Stroller, Sheila and Julien. What with my salvias, Lobelias and cup n' saucer vine, there may not be much room left this winter in the bosses greenhouse!

20 Aug, 2011

Just wonderful Lulu. I must ask my son to take some in evening sunlight. I wouldn't have thought of that but I do love to sit for a while when the shadows make lovely shapes on the grass. Ah! now I'm waxing lyrical. Time for a more mundane cuppa. Happy snapping.

21 Aug, 2011

I agree that the evening sunlight is often magical on our plants. Your plants really look fantastic! :-))

21 Aug, 2011

Thanks Balcony. I am really enjoying them:)
