Super Moon!

Ah, that would explain the height of the river Arun and the high tide we saw today! The sea was almost up to the road.

That's interesting Shirley, living so far from sea and river, I forget about the pull of the moon!
I have my good camera with the long lense at the ready and my mobile alarm on lest I forget, which after a week of Cheltenham Festival racing I may do!!

yes i saw this on the news this morning the bit i missed was why the chappie was holding the inside bit of a kitchen roll?!!! was it to see the moon better? it was quite big last night when i took Rocky out for his night walk, shall be looking tonight

I thought it was large last night and took the opportunity to take a photo when I returned home from my bowling evening. Apparently the size is a bit of an illusion and the chap with the kitchen roll was explaining this. If you look at the moon through the roll it doesn't look so big! I have been trying to take a photo of each stage of the moon for a collage-type photo so hope I can get the final one tonight :)

I've just popped out to have a look but my moon is behind the trees - I will have to wait a couple of hours before I can take some photos.

just been out and can barely see it here only shape as its cloudy this evening, but saw it earlier and looked like it did lastnight to me, but love to see the moon full, hope someone gets a good pic

I've just taken a couple of photos. I had to go down the garden (very dark!) to get a shot between the trees. I was afraid I would miss it as the forecast is for cloud. The higher is rises the less large it seems!

Hubby took the grandchildren aside tonight and was showing them the big moon...they were impressed.

I looked out a little while ago (it's now hidden by cloud here too) and I must admit I've seen harvest moons that look more colourful and big....not sure why they are that way though!

I too had forgotten about the way this moon would affect the seas and rivers. Nature is fascinating.

I heard about the super moon but unfortunately it has been overcast and pouring with rain since yesterday!!

It the closest to the earth always disaster when closest to the earth, earth quakes which has already happend, next year 3 blue moons rare so goodness know what will happen then which is supose to come about on the 21.12 2012 end of the Mayhem calender and Egyptian prediction on the same date, floods the poles will tilt and electric cut out to the earth as the sun will send a wave out, all the planets will be in line.

Oh dear, Oh dear 6d, I'd forgotten about all that! I have never heard of The Mayan Calender called 'The mayhem' calender!!! Whats a Blue Moon? Only heard of it in a song!!

Saw the moon but it didn't look any different to me, maybe its best viewed from a certain place like America. :-)

When I saw it the night before the full moon, it looked bigger then!
