The pond hasn’t really come to life yet but here are a few photos from yesterday.

More a lake than a pond and though you say it hasn't come to life yet, I bet that the creatures that inhabit it don't agree. It's lovely and I would waste most of my day just sitting looking at it!

So would I. Words fail me.

It is distracting haha. I saw snakes swimming in there when it was hot last weekend and the moorhens have made a nest on overhanging willow branches, sitting just above the water.
It's hard to capture it on camera, there's an island in the middle :-)
I say pond as it's quite shallow :-)

lots of life in your shallow lake Haha. I recognise the first plant but cant dredge a name up for it. put me out of my misery please.
Are they Matteuccia? [shuttlecock ferns] they look wonderful. I cant get them to grow in my garden as I don't have enough damp for them.

I agree with Honeysuckle... I'd lose hours just sitting there watching time go by. All that work... and so worth the effort.

So lovely isn’t it? Id love to take a stroll around there. I can just imagine the dragon flies, frogs etc.

Seaburn, it's Darmera peltata :) yes they are Matteuccia struthiopteris, they've spread on the pond bank.
Thanks Lori :-). It is a peaceful area Karen, one day you may pop round :-). I know the photos are pretty rubbish, I just use my phone as quick and easy, I don't have your patience lol
