Nearly new begining

It is nearly a month since I have written anything on Goy.
Main reason OH had Knee replacement and I have been Nurse and Housekeeper and chef, all is well and she is already walking better than prior to the opp.
That has meant the garden has been totally neglected but no stopping things growing including weeds.
Add to that the PC was on it’s last legs opted for a new Dell one which has been installed with windows 10 That’s a nightmare to find your way around to start with, Explorer has been replaced with Microsoft edge only problem some parts are not yet up and running and things like external windows 7 or 8 card readers are not compatible with 10.
Enough of that A few flowers

Enjoy

Brian...the dog charged in to the living room the other day, knocked over the table the Ipad was on and now it's broken, so I'm back to using the laptop all the time. :(

Ever so glad to hear that the op was a success, and your garden is looking lovely - on these photos at least. :) Love that double Thalictrum.

it is more like the lay out of an I phone/I pad

Karen
have not bought an I pad as yet as I prefer a much larger screen it's my eyes, can't see any point in straining them on 10 screens

I keep getting messages on my laptop to upgrade to windows 10,but no way am I going to,after all the bad reports I have seen.I am quite happy with Windows 7..Ipad isn't for me either, for the same reason as you Brian..
So glad your good lady is recovering well from her knee op..keep up the good work with your housekeeping duties..much appreciated,I'm sure..:o)
Your garden is looking lovely as ever..plenty of colour there :o)

You have a good point, both of you. The reason I preferred Ipad is because I can sit on the sofa with it and don't get neck or shoulder pain. But I've discovered I can do that with my laptop just as well if i use a Bean Bag Tray, and the picture...as you say...much bigger :)

OH put it off for as long as she could but when we saw the x ray the whole joint was collapsing and it was very obvious she would not have been walking on it much longer.

Oh my goodness, I have had an X-ray just waiting for the results, but it is causing me a great deal of pain at the moment!

Karen,I have something similar to rest my laptop on,and it's great..Mine is advertised in Argos as a lap top tray, but I think yours will serve the same purpose..Cushion behind me,on the settee, and a padded tray..just the job :o)

I am not aware the PC would make any difference to picture quality for me it is more about the light they are taken in and remembering to adjust the camera settings to suit.

You're a star Brian being nurse and doing the domestics. Was at hospital yesterday with my Mum for her pre op for her knee replacement. Should have the op in a few weeks. I will be nursing like you then. Your garden as ever looks fantastic. Love the thalictrum, stunning.

The garden looks lovely, Brian. So pleased to hear OH's treatment is a success. Commiserations re the new operating system - always a nightmare. I find Windows very frustrating since I started using the iPad, but understand the difficulties.

Sometimes, our gardens have to take a 'back seat' don't they when other things have to come first! These pictures show how bright and colourful your garden still is and it looks beautiful.

My husband intends to install Windows 10 tomorrow- perhaps he shouldn't!

Yes a year ago on the east Devon coast ,the wheels move slowly on the NHS it was carried out in a private hospital in the end.

Brian if you go into developers options my son said on the internet explorer you have to leave devlopers options open it will mimic your 7and 8 card you just have leave it open while using it.
Glad to hear your wife has recovered well after her knee operations with your nursing .

Wonderful colourful displays I adore the Thalictrum Hewitts.

Your wife must be happy to have you around to do the housekeeping, etc while she recovers, Brian!

Your garden looks wonderful in spite of the lack of attention! Plants don't stop growing do they if we are unable to attend to the chores, like constant weeding! I notice that on Gerry's allotments - I've hardly been able to get down to them in the last month or so & things have just gone MAD!

As for the computer OS - I'm glad Win 10 has been installed as I like it much more than Win 8.1 which I had been trying to use for a couple of months since my poor XP "bit the dust"! Win 8.1 was very hard to try to get used to compared to Win XP which I had used since it first came out! I still think XP is the best OS ever made by MS!

I have a little experience on Windows Vista as my wife has it on her computer. I also have a little experience with Win 7 as my brother has been bringing his laptop up often so I can fix various problems for him.

15 Sep, 2015

I am encouraged by your experience of Windows 10, Balcony. I ended up with Windows 8 for the same reason as you did, and I too loved Windows XP. I might bite the bullet and download Windows 10.

Its not as good as sliced bread, they have moved an awful lot about leaving you to work out what all the symbols stand for.
The Mail is a better layout and if you like a whole lot of apps to play with you will be pleased.
The replacement for internet explorer would probably be alright if it all worked.
as usual they look as though they have launched before they have finished it.

Brian your plants are beautiful it is a while since I have logged on to grows on you so I am not up to date with the news so pleased that Pauline has had the op - Bob has had both his done the key to success is to exercise to get the bend back in the knee it is so painful but worth it Bob has a 90 degree bend in his best wishes to you both -jane
