New front garden seat

I have been on the look out for a small seat to put in my front garden but with no luck as they have been too big or the wrong colour, so I decided to do a bit of DIY.

This is a chair from an old set that was used in my last garden. I took the back off and the nice men at work re-bolted the back legs and filed the screw tops level.

Saturday afternoon I sat in the back garden and painted it with a can of metal paint. Quite fiddly but very relaxing.

So now I have a new parking spot in the front garden which gets the last rays of sun and is very sheltered.

I live in a quiet close with trees and shrubs around the front garden making this a nice, private place to sit and take a break.

My little throne Frybo! It's hammered metal paint so not too shiny and should tone down with age.

BRILLIANT. You are very lucky to be one of the very few who can sit in their front garden. I cannot even imagine doing it here. It's like putting yourself on exhibition.

looks lovely, and even nicer in that is something you have reused and improved, so much more satisfying..

What a good idea Ann - it makes a useful item out of an unused chair. Well done.

Yeah, the colour is great...unlike the bright loud stuff I used on my chimenea! Well done Annie, nice job. I have a metal chair in my front porch. I have never sat in it, but perhaps later in the year, when the sun is not so warm on the back garden....it's very sunny in the morning at my front as it faces SE. Not very private at all of course, but who cares...I'll be reading a gardening magazine anyway!

I was looking for copper or bronze Karen but could only find gold in Wilkos, too impatient to wait! I like it now though, just needed something that wouldn't clash with the pots. I may give it some copper highlights later on.

:)) nice!

I might have to hunt out chiminea paint , I bet that comes in darker colours....thinking of painting the rest of the set now for the side patio (in creative mode Lol!)

That's a good idea. I got my chimnea paint on amazon. It's a spray, it's heat resistant of course, which you don't need, but you might get a better selection of hammerite colours on there.....just a thought!
