Beyond excited! 🦔🦔

After a stressful day a school, I was rewarded by a wonderful experience in my garden this evening.

As I sat crouched outside at 20.30 under a hedge as it was getting dark I wanted to observe my resident hedgehog more closely. I have been feeding him/her with hedgehog nibbles (that my cats don’t touch) for a while now. So as I sat watching in wonder & excitement, a second hedgehog appeared! I could not believe my eyes! Two hedgehogs…. 🦔🦔 i am so lucky to have these guys living in my garden. I know they don’t come from another garden as I spent many an evening trying to figure out where they were coming from. They live in my wildlife patch with a bespoke wildlife hotel for all shapes & sizes.

Maybe they’ll have babies in the spring….. one can only dream…. 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔

Anyway, just wanted to share this experience and it has certainly lifted my spirits! 👍🏻

(Unfortunately no photo’s as it was too dark & they hate the flash)

Lovely blog, thank you for sharing! It’s really special isn’t it as they are less frequent visitors now. I haven’t had one here for a couple of years.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you that there will be hoglets in the future.

that is brilliant, we often get a single one and sometimes 2 but I haven't seen either of them for the last week.

I will be out there tonight again & will give them separate bowls as they were fighting over the food and Ended up tipping the plate over. They made some funny sounds....

Glad to hear you have such lovely visitors. We have 2 regulars, one called 'Marilyn' because it is more blonde in the dark (Hope we don't give it a complex). They have scrapes under 3 of the fences and can shimmy under the gate to the green space in front of the house.
We put out a house some years ago and know we used to have an occupant, but not sure now.
It would help us all if the 'experts' didn't keep changing their minds about what it is good to leave out for the hogs to eat.

What a wonderful experience ... no need for photos, we can all imagine two hedgehogs, and the image is definitely making me smile 🙂

What a marvellous evening! Feeling envious as we don't get them here because there are badgers around. Sending very best wishes to your little family!

I feel very protective of them. I went out again tonight, stood still for ages a& as rgeir eyesight is not good, one walked over my foot! Saw some huge slugs about so plenty to eat for them in the garden, have ordered some more hedgehog food as they’ve got quite an appetite, fattening up for winter. 🦔❤️

We have one huge one who rambles through our garden every night, sometimes taking a drink from a water bowl placed on the ground. Even just a few seconds of seeing him/her makes us smile, so we understand your excitement for sure!
