My Mum

I lost my one & only Beautiful Flower, the Flower was my Mum Joyce, she past away on the 31st Oct 2021, she would have been 100yrs this Feb, her Favourite Rose was a Peace Rose, I planted a SunKing Tree at the side of it which was a Big Mistake & the rose suffered, a few months ago I cut the SunKing down in hope the Peace Rose could flourish again but sadly Mum won’t see it now ;o( but hope fully she will look down on it from above?
Mum was a Smiler, she didn’t let things get her down, in her slightly younger days she loved to make her garden look lovely with lots of Blooming pretty flowers & when my Dad Bob was alive, they both did the garden together :o)) Her favourite shrub was her Choisya ternate Sundance (Mecican Orange Blossom) that was her bit of Sunshine on Gloomy Days by her Patio Window, she loved the Shasta Daisies, the fluffy looking ones, out in the front garden there is a Wedding Day Rose that Bloomed on the day of her (Celebration of Her Life) at the Crematorium :o)) so that was lovely to see :o))
Mum was a WAAF stationed at Mount Batten Pembrokeshire Docks Plymouth in 1941, she was in Signals.
Her Friend Eddie lives in Gwent Wales :o))

A life well lived and you have so many wonderful memories to keep her spirit alive. She looks a happy lady and that ice cream is going down a treat.
Lots of lovely plants to remember her by too.
Condolences to you and the family.

I've given this a 'Like' for the wonderfully caring way you have described your dear departed Mum. What a very long life she had! Thinking of you at this very sad time.

Sad news about your Mum, but what a wonderful long life. The photo of her as a WAAF is great and she obviously didn't change over the years, you can see it is her with that smile!
Best of luck with the plants, I love plants that give you a memory of someone - either they gave it to you or it was their favourite in the past.

Jackie, you’ve written a beautiful blog in remembrance of your lovely Mum. I’m sorry she didn’t get the chance to make it to her 100th - I’m sure you’d all be celebrating - but, you still can when her birthday arrives - a day of wonderful memories and love.
I do hope your rose will flourish again, with beautiful blooms. The pics you’ve shared with us are smashing! She looks a really happy lady in them!
I’m looking 0it at one of my Choisya plants right now - and your mum is spot on - they are luminous on a dull, dreary day.
Sending my condolences to you and your family. Xx

I am so sorry for your loss Jackie, even harder on New Years eve!
I loved the photos you put on and she didn't look anywhere near her age!
I also loved the other picture too! My Mum was a WAAF but then at some point, not sure when, she did voluntary ambulance driving then went in the RAF.
You will have some lovely memories of her and the Choisya is there to have happy thoughts about her too!

What a wonderful smile! I've ticked like, because it is not at all a depressing blog but one of celebration of a really lovely, smiley lady. Lots of good memories for you to hold on to. She is now enjoying a well earned retirement. Remember her with joy.

Thank You All so much for all your messages, very thoughtful of you all.
Oh! Dear.....I made a Mistake, she passed away on the 31st October 2021 not in December, I have corrected it now :o))
I'm hoping to go to Mount Batten Plymouth for her Birthday & sit on a rock & have my photo taken in a simular area to where Mum & her friend Eddie (Paddy) was taken, I have been on a Facebook Chat Room Site "RAF'' Mount Batten, Ha! I've been trying to find the spot where they sat, there looks like there is a building above them & a roof top to the right side of it, I need Sherlock Holmes help I think LOL, a lot of kind people have been trying to help me, so there's a base of a building behind, then rocks & their feet are touching the shingle like sand but you can't see it in this picture.
xx Jackie xx
PS. I have added another photo so you can see what looks like buildings above them & Mums feet in the shingle below the rocks :o))
