So pleased you all liked our bird blog, not often we get the chance to take bird pictures, it has been so cold here.....the birds have been desperate for food, even gave them some of my mixed fruit, had a beautiful Mistle thrush down as well, unfortunately the batteries had run out, will try again tomorrow, thanks again for all your kind comments.

9 Jan, 2010

my mistle thrush still comes dotty,, they are beautifull arent they ;o)

9 Jan, 2010

Lovely photos, Daisy.
How do you tell a Song Thrush and Mistle Thrush apart - is it just one is browner and one is greyer? I can't make up my mind which is which!

10 Jan, 2010

mistle thrush is the largest of the thrush family, longer tail and smaller head with greyish feathers and daker more bold spots wagger, its also the true festive bird with its loud singing at xmas time even though we see the robin as xmas bird, hope this helps :o)

10 Jan, 2010

Thanks for that, Sanbaz. So do I - I need them to arrive at the same time and sit side by side, lol.

10 Jan, 2010

lol wagger ;o)

10 Jan, 2010

Sanbaz, still waiting not seen him/her for a few days now.
Wagger glad you enjoyed the pics.decided as the weather is so lousy would take up the camera and play around.

12 Jan, 2010

We've nothing very exciting visiting us, but a very tatty looking blackbird with some white tail feathers is a new bold visitor, comes right to our back door where we've cleared a patch and eats seed which is all we have at the moment:-)

12 Jan, 2010

I put food out for them 2 days ago and no birds have bothered with it.

13 Jan, 2010

Perhaps they've seen Blodyn around, Hywel.

13 Jan, 2010

Blodyn, like me, will not go down the garden. And also it is on top of the garage roof where she can't reach.

13 Jan, 2010

Then you must have very fussy birds around there, Hywel. lol Perhaps your neighbours feed them gourmet grub?

13 Jan, 2010

Has it frozen Hywel?

13 Jan, 2010

It has about 2 inches of snow over it since yesterday. My neighbours don't feed any birds, except one up the back lane.

13 Jan, 2010

My fat balls were frozen and I didn't realize8~/

13 Jan, 2010

I don't suppose they'll eat it if it's frozen. If it thaws a bit i will go and bring it in. I will try puting it somewhere else after it dries out.

13 Jan, 2010

I've seen on another pic what you put out Hywel, I'd eat it;-))

13 Jan, 2010

lol :o))
