RAY DAVIES OF THEKINKS” I know how you felt……..what am I tired of waiting for? the SUN!! and some warmth, fed up with looking like Michelin woman!!
A couple of photographs from our garden room today, where it is unbelievably cold, could see your breath this morning……still every thing is growing away, they are happy, even if I am unhappy with all this cold…….

Let us all hope this time next week we will all be bathed in SUNSHINE……..

your plants look fantastic!

you know those videos you can get of a real log fire burning ~ just to look like you have a lovely fire in your lounge ~ maybe we should all get one of a lovely summers day or a sunrise ~ just so we can look at it and remember or hope!

That's a wonderful looking garden room you've got there and your plants look great! I agree about the cold, I'm so looking forward to feeling warmth outside again.

24 Feb, 2013

We can but hope Dotty. Everything looks so neat and tidy in your garden room.

Amazingly so - how do you do it?

I'm fed up with wet then cold - where's that sun?

24 Feb, 2013

looks great DD !!! I too hate this weather

24 Feb, 2013

Oh I agree with you ... I want some warmth too ... I don't mind so much about the sun shining (although it would be nice) but I DOOO need warmer temperatures. I feel rather unwell with all this cold weather.

Your plants are lovely, especially the succulents. Mine always look rather bedraggled at this time of year.

Hywel, yours is there growing away quite happily, I know what you mean about the warmth, it is the bitingly cold wind here which is horrid......
Paul thanks, Spring must be around the corner?
Spritz I have to keep it that way, we eat in there.....
Cinders I give it a spring clean every few weeks and move all the plants around and inspect them for disease etc
Louisa thanks, I do not know how we would manage without it, not having a glasshouse.....
Sticki good idea.......
Liizzi I am always pleased to see them go back to the garden because they come in around September October depending on the weather, so for 6 months we have to share our space with them, our children think we are bonkers!!

I do watch the pressure graphs - even been mad enough to pay for it - the block high is stuborn to move - going west then week after this east again! keeping a block on atlantic depressions for a while - looks like remaining pretty cold for 2 weeks at least :(

24 Feb, 2013

Nice to know it's doing well :o)

24 Feb, 2013

24 Feb, 2013

What a lovely sunroom Dd, you plants look well and happy there, but who wouldn't? Know what you mean about Michelin woman!forgotten what i look like, without layers of clothing on!:-(

I think we are all lacking the sun, its nearly a year of cold, damp grey skies......last year, well a few years really we could count the days we could sit outside, or garden in just a tee shirt.......
Maybe soon or I,m getting one of those SAD lamps and pretending.....

25 Feb, 2013

I have one Pam....it's been used a lot this winter...it does help me. :)

25 Feb, 2013

It's so cold here today that I wanted to stay in bed and forget about work. Your garden room 'looks' lovely and warm Dotty even if it isn't :o)

25 Feb, 2013

Lovely garden room , Dd .

25 Feb, 2013

Oh Driad I do hope you are right........if it comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lamb......where does cold, grey and miserable fit into that. :0(

25 Feb, 2013

your summer room looks lovely Angela even though you probably want to get the plants outdoors, but at least they are nice to see over winter.

25 Feb, 2013

I hope you're right DottyD....bathed in sunshine would be lovely. But, I'm afraid I've see the weather forecasts...oh dear!! I think some parts of Scotland had lovely sunshine today...lucky devils!!!!!!

25 Feb, 2013

Paul so have I and it is not a pretty sight!!.......
San thanks the plants like it better than I do lol
Driad it is very hard to stay positive, when it is just too cold to even be outside.......
HB it is lighter I agree, funny thing so have I just bought a new jacket, it is wind proof, and rain proof and has been a life saver this last few weeks.....
Thanks Amy, Lincs, and Annella it is a very useful room when you have so many tender plants to care for.
Karen the plants are easily pleased with a little tlc.....
Gralew and Pam thanks for your kind comments...

Oh My! I could do with a room like that! It wouldn't stay as neat and clean and tidy as yours, though, DD2. I can germinate some seeds quite well inside the house (cold spare bedroom) but we have no windowsills, and everywhere is so dark, they don't do well. At the moment I can't even GET to the greenhouse! I often haul tender plants up to the loft to overwinter, but deep snow is on the skylight, so it's dark up there, too.

26 Feb, 2013

kids are all back at school so surely it will get better now. usually does doesnt it.
lovely range of plants there too.

26 Feb, 2013

I've jut taken a risk and taken my newly germinated seedlings out into the sunshine for an hour or two. I just hope it isn't too cold for them. SBG's right - the range of really healthy looking plants you have there is wonderful - a bit like Kew Gardens.

26 Feb, 2013

Gattina thanks, the cold has kept them fairly healthy, you have to be careful because red spider mite can be a problem, they do get a spray every now and then, we also have plants in the porch and on the windowsills!! in fact the Brugmansia is flowering it's head off.
You obviously have a great deal of snow then? hope it clears sooner rather than later......
SBG it has gone a tad warmer, although the heating is on and I still have 3 layers on!! but the wind has dropped, thank goodness.

26 Feb, 2013

Still over 2' of the wretched stuff, DD2! We've been shovelling for all we're worth all today. Well, OH has, anyway. Never mind - it can't last.

27 Feb, 2013

Oh dear Gattina, still, as you say it has to go at some stage......

27 Feb, 2013

Sunshine yippee.......

Don't know if it will last but oh its sooo welcome. :0)))

27 Feb, 2013

Not here, sadly. Nor tomorrow according to our weather man, or Friday, or the weekend. :-(((((

27 Feb, 2013

It seems as if we are all tired of waiting, but everytime I think of Spritzs I think how lucky most of us have been.
Shall look forward to seeing your plants in your beautiful garden come the better weather -notice I don`t predict when that will be.lol.

27 Feb, 2013

Every plant looks so healthy with lovely shiny leaves. I, like you, am longing for the sun to shine - all this greyness gets me down too!!!

28 Feb, 2013

Same here, Wildrose. You're quite close to us, aren't you. We're getting the same old weather as each other - grey, grey and more grey. :-((

1 Mar, 2013

It's awful isn't it? Maybe when the sun decides to put in an appearance it will be here to stay!!!
