My hedge has had a facelift

When we moved into this property in Sept 2011 the garden was bare with a clump of conifers an old apple tree and not a lot else.

In the last almost two years I have been marking out and digging borders and planting plenty of plants.

Not happy with the overgrown yew tree, I have made sure it received a trim other the last two years to get it to a decent shape. So now it is the right size and shape it was time to do the next thing, give it a facelift.

This hedge looks out onto the bridal way which you have to cross to get into my garden, so every passing person can see him smile.

Also where we park the cars is…..

This is a lonicera nitida teddy bear for my little boy.
Evan my little boy touches the teddy bear on the nose every time we go out in the garden and I then have to lift him up to touch the smiley face.

Yes your handiwork made me smile as well and I think Evan's teddy is really good, I'd have to pat him as well if I went into the garden....

Love your topiary and your fence+gate too, so simple yet effective.

Carry on the good work.

I love the fence and gate- just that little bit different. And you will be needing a fence to keep your "creatures" from escaping - I would not like to meet Mr Yew on the bridle way on a dark night even if he was still smiling!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. The feedback from passers by over the weekend were also very complementary. I had done it for my little boy and myself but it seems that everyone likes it.
