Mingling in Maytime

In the month of May, my flowers like to mingle …
This is my back garden raised bed …

I’m never too bothered about colour themes …
Mother Nature is tolerant of shocking shades blending together…

……………………………………………………………………..

My photo below illustrates another manic mixture …
… but I like it …

……………………………………………………………………..

Now, can you spot the difference in these 3 pics ?
… ha ha …

yes … Neptune is growing up fast …

……………………………………………………………………..

My other pets are not forgotten …

I’ve entered a couple more online charity photo shows.

Fund-raising for dog rescue, Sapphire is entered in the class for ‘Funniest Photo’ …

……………………………………………………………………..

… and in a photo competition for Exotic Pet Refuge, Truffle has his collage in the Tricks class …

……………………………………………………………………..

Also, I usually include some pics for my friend. She is a stroke-survivor, so I enter on her behalf … photos she has taken of her cat, Jasper.

I put this one into the category of Most Mischievous Pet …

……………………………………………………………………..

Finally, here’s one of my favourite mingles of the moment …

… a corner of my Wishing Garden …

I hope you are all enjoying your Maytime gardens.

Terra, your 'mingles' are superb, who needs a colour themed garden eh?

Neptune is just adorable and growing up fast, super photo.

Jasper would get a surprise if the tap began to drip ... :o)

Hi Tt, your garden is looking great, {as usual}, I don't bother about clashing colours either, if it's good enough for Mother Nature, it's good enough for me ?.
I haven't spotted any differences yet, Derek.

Im enjoying May very much Terra. Its my favourite month. You know I like my colour themes, but my FIL always said that in nature everything mixes in together perfectly happily. And you a both right. Sometimes I think I am trying too hard, and should let it all go together. I am always blown away by your garden. :) pet photos are great too btw!

It all looks beautiful,I hope mine looks as good as yours some day.

It all looks superb. Colour themes and swathes of one colour look tremendous - if you have a few hundred feet to get the full effect. Otherwise there are too many lovely plants that you just NEED to incorporate in your garden and as you say who cares if the colours clash, the bees don't!

What a great blog ... pets are so lovable , the cat picture is so funny sitting in a sink.
I knew a cat that would sit on top of the kettle that had a flat lid , many a time we coudnt have a cuppa as she thought it cruel if we moved it lol I am sure it knew as we left the kitchen one day and it immediately jumped down and as soon as we went back in back on the kettle it would go and just look at me !

Garden looking lovely as normal Terra .
I like May everything looking fresh at the moment nothing with chewed holes in but with the rain we have had past two days I will have to keep a eye out for slugs and snails

Another great blog. Your garden and animals look great, I hope they do well in the competitions. The only difference I think I can see is the red dog in the top picture looks slightly smaller, but not sure if that's down to my computer or just my imagination.PoP

Lovely mix of colours, who cares if they mix and match? Think I've spotted the difference. Will pm you.

I am all for mixing it up and hope that some day I will get just a little of the effect you have. Your pets are great, and always look SO well behaved. Should send you Shadow to sort out lol. Good luck with competitions, let us know how you get on.

My sort of garden planting, colours mixed together, but I do like big plants at the back and small at the front.
All the pets are looking adorable.

Terra looking at your lovely garden makes me despair of ever getting mine to be anywhere near as satisfying. I love the wishing garden specially - its amazing what you can do with just different shapes and shades of green.
Neptune is incredible just so like dear Conker. Has he started learning tricks yet?

It all looks so beautifully blended together, not a centimeter for any weed to pop through. The riot of colour is lovely. I hope I can get mine like that in the future.

Thank you for your wonderful responses to my blog ... I've studied all your comments several times over. I find it nteresting to read your thoughts on planting and colours.

Yes, with the three cartoons, the Sheltie gets larger in each progressive picture .. exactly what Neptune is doing .. growing fast !

You know me Terra my garden always mingles as well, I love it, I admire one colour scheme beds in others but its not my way , I do have moments when seeing others layout I think, yes !!.. I'm going to try that idea but it never happens, lol..yours is and always has been beautiful.
Seeing Truffle practising his tricks brought a lot of memories of Conker and I admit a huge lump but in a nice way, its lovely to see Truffle, I love the praying one, surely thats a new pose, I don't remember seeing that one before. I did spot the difference straight away in the cartoons, gosh hasn't Neptune grown, he's gorgeous Terra and getting to be a very handsome lad with a beautiful fluffy coat..
You made me laugh with Sapphires photo, so comical and your friends cat in the sink was very funny,I can certainly relate to that one, it happens here as well, our Toffee also sleeps in the bath at times as well as the sink and of course he's ginger and white, although a lot lighter..
Lovely blog Terra and its good to be able to comment again without getting logged out every few seconds, here's hoping it continues that way and I can participate properly again.........

Thanks Sue and Feverfew ...
Truffle has done the praying trick since he was young, but somehow I never got around to photographing him very much doing that pose, till now. Yes, Neptune is growing fast ! Weather has been a bit mixed lately for gardening, but hoping to get back to more work out there soon.
