I have 3 red acer trees and need to cut the branches on one of them as it has grown too big and is blocking light to my vegetable garden. How should I cut it without damaging the tree.

Answers

this is one of those trees which bleeds extensively if cut, so the advice is to prune in winter, when the tree is dormant, and before mid February.
